While writing Desperate Measures, I accidentally ended up writing something entirely irrelevant. I did reference this in the last chapter though. See if you can spot it after you read this.

Exusiai busted the car window with her elbow and gripped the car handle. She pulled her arm backwards and then swiftly entered the black van. Croissant and Bison took an alternate seat instead, they opened up the back of the van and sat right there with their shields up. I nearly stopped in my tracks to just look at their bizarre move but this was Penguin Logistics we were talking about. And also Bison. Never forget MDL's little prince.

Texas wasted no time and took her spot as the driver of the car. Sora followed her idol and sat in one of the seats with her mic at the ready, in case she really needed to freeze the entire chasing convoy.

There weren't any seats left for me and Deevy, thus I pre-ordered a motorcycle from the LGD just for this occasion. I'm glad that they're paying for all this transport.

We ran towards the already parked motorcycle while Texas turned up the engines of the van.

"Who's driving?" She halted when she was steps away from getting on.

"I have the important stuff so you take the spot!" I yelled out. My arm went numb and it felt like it was on fire, thanks to that asshole. The heat drove me crazy but the realization that he out of everyone poisoned me made me enraged. I hopped onto the passenger seat making sure my back was facing hers and flipped the bag onto my stomach. Taking out the reserved rifle conveniently placed on the motorcycle, I pulled the bolt as Deevy went on to catch up with Texas.

"Hope you can aim decently while we're driving at 50 kilometres per hour!"

My instinct was to snap back with a report on my current status. I was in no shape to aim properly with a rifle at all. I was breathing heavily and even coughed up a few times. Keeping up with Vierren's moves isn't an easy task. Even harder when you have to multi-task. If I can't aim properly, then my only option was to just blind fire.

I attempted to keep my cool and ended up letting out a 'tsk'. She took it as a sign of challenging me and laughed it off while we drove up into the highway.

These black-suited mafiosos, no. They were mercenaries. They just keep chasing us down with their abundant supply of cars. It was hard for them to hit us because we were swirling through the place. Texas had to bust out her serious driving and I'm surprised that this Sarkaz can even barely follow her moves.

As hard as it was for them to hit us, it was the same for me. Exusiai has top marksmanship aim and I wouldn't doubt her shots. Her vector fired out rubber bullets which somehow can pierce through wheels and windows. She had a grin on her face as one of the cars did a front flip with the passengers of the transport falling out like dominos. The car bounced off the road and eventually blew up in front of the tailing convoy.

Well, I couldn't really aim for god sake so I opted to modify the rubber bullets with homing properties. Don't ask me how, I just do this naturally. Arts isn't explainable it literally defies the laws of physics here. If I didn't have this rifle in my hand I would have just used my arts instead, but to save my own pride I had to use it.

We pushed back the convoy and gave ourselves some breathing room. They were stuck far away with 6 burning cars blocking their way. If they rammed themselves into it they'd cause a chain reaction which would destroy the entire bridge.

I sighed in relief as the assault was over.

Something pushed up my back. It was sharp and pushed the black fabric of my clothing to my skin. I closed one of my eyes turning my head to see that the sharp object,

Was Deevy's horns.

Out of rage, I turned my body and used my 5 fingers to cover one of her horns. She let out an 'eep' with her cheeks turning from pale to red. After making sure she had a reaction I made my payback by toying with her horns. I moved my hand applying the most gentle pressure I could at the moment with my weak arms repeatedly over the tip and the structure of her identity as a Sarkaz.

She laughed out uncontrollably as I screamed at her, "What the hell is wrong with you? Are you trying to assassinate me with these things!?"

"No...Nooooo!" She couldn't say anything clearly. Every time she would open her mouth and attempt to speak it was always replaced with constant laughter. I moved from the tip to now the root of the horn. And things got quite weird.

Her laughter was replaced with a low and long sound.  She whimpered as I touched the root again.

Eventually, I gave up on doing this anymore. It was starting to get weird and I expected another convoy to catch up sooner or later.

"What was that for!" She pushed her bottom lip forward displaying her childish annoyance at me.

"How about you keep those things away from me? I don't want to die here!"

"Fine. But... next time...plea-"

"God damn it, just focus on driving, will you?

She muttered something out, "...it tickles..."

"Just... drive! I'll hear the complaints when we're safe and sound okay?"

This was based on a talk I had with the OC creator of Deevy, Varic. I did more research after this and one of Firewatch's lines captivated my attention.

Her trust tap line, "Uh, please don't touch my antlers... it tickles..." and so I thought it would be the same for other races with distinct features.
