~Cactus
"Cactus!" I was in an important meeting with some of the other Talons when I heard Truthseeker's voice calling my name, "Cactus!" She half stumbled, half ran into the cave, panting ad staring at me with wild, frantic eyes. Everyone in the room was either staring at me or her. I looked at Nautilus, and he nodded, giving me permission to follow Truthseeker out of the cave.
Truthseeker and I had been together for quite a long time by then, keeping our relationship a secret in fear that the NightWings would separate us. No matter how much time was spent together, the sight of her always made my heart jump and my words stumble on the way out of my mouth. It frightened me to see her this frantic, this bedraggled.
"Cactus," she said, gasping for air, "I'm with egg!"
