Black, tan, gray.  Night, Sand, neither.  A hollow mountain, a trip outside, an escape.

The pictures flashed in front of my eyes over and over again, pictures of the life I left behind.  I had never gone a single day without missing my parents, but with memories of my parents came memories of my stone prison.

I had flown to an area a few minutes flight from my hut and let myself cry, let myself be overcome in memories, let my emotionless mask drop for the first time in years.

After a few moments, I felt a wing across my back and looked to see, through blurry eyes, Desert.  I cried into his shoulder, neither of us speaking.
