The alpha woke up once again, hearing the heart wrenching screams coming from upstairs. He sighed and got up quite exhausted.
It had been a week since he came to the Blue Stone Pack. Liam's pack was entirely different from the ones Zayn has visited before.
For starters, he has never seen a Luna leading a pack. But with time, he realised why the omega was liked by all.
Liam is the heart of this pack. Everyone adores him, appreciates him and above all respects him.
And as Zayn got to know the pack, he also had the chance to know Liam too, well, not directly.
The omega isn't much of a speaker. He only talks to Zayn if necessary. But he seems really close to Ivan and his pack members. And Zayn isn't a person who gets jealous. Never in the twenty six years of his existence has he ever gotten jealous of some alpha, but he was now.
He doesn't want to admit but he feels a tug in his heart when Liam and Ivan disappear into the office whenever the latter comes to the mansion. And he knows that shouldn't bother him, Liam is not his omega, but still he can't help but feel somewhat dejected.
Ivan sometimes stays back to have a chat with him. And though Zayn tries to find some fault in him, he can't. Ivan is a perfect alpha in every sense, Zayn could tell why Liam prefers him.
His only company other than Ivan was Chris. The little pup was quite talkative contrary to his omega father. But the alpha didn't mind one bit. Zayn had always been friendly with little pups, and having Chris spend his spare time with him, made the alpha happy.
The pack members at first didn't really accept that Zayn should live in the mansion. He himself could understand why. Their Luna resides there and that too without the protection of his mate, of course there will be suspicions.
But Liam had already made up his mind. The mansion hadn't housed any alphas after the demise of Liam's mate.
Aiden was the former pack alpha of Blue Stone pack. Him and Liam had gotten married six years ago and were then blessed with Chris. From what Ivan had told Zayn, the alpha could tell that Liam and Aiden were madly in love with each other.
But after Chris was born, a pack of rogue wolves had attacked their town. And during that encounter, the pack alpha had lost his life. He died in Liam's arms.
Ivan had told him only bits of Liam's history. But Zayn wanted to know who the omega really is.
The first night Zayn had slept in the mansion, he was woken up in the same way when he heard many screams coming from upstairs. When he ran to see what was happening, he saw Liam was trembling like a leaf, all the while Chris and Emma were calming him down.
Emma was the housekeeper, who had been working here for the last twenty years. The forty something beta was friendly and Zayn got a motherly vibe from her.
The alpha learnt that there are some nights when Liam has nightmares about his mate. And the sad fact is that the omega doesn't really know how to control himself.
Zayn shook his head and got out of the room assigned to him. He was staying on the ground floor where all other servants also had their rooms. Upstairs, only the family of the pack alpha could reside.
When he got out of his bedroom, he saw Emma rushing towards the stairs. Zayn was quick to follow her.
"I'll check on Chris first. The poor pup is too tired today. His tutor was very harsh on him, he had to do so much work and got tired that he was already in bed at seven"
The alpha just nodded in response and saw Emma walking into Chris' room.
Zayn hesitated before opening the omega's door.
