Lost Innocence

CHAPTER 23

 When Sean entered the movie is yet to be finish so he just silently sat there mindlessly staring at the television. When it's finally done he immediately asked Daeven to take him home reasoning his mother texted him. If only the mansion isn't far away from the main highway he was already gone long ago but this change in Sean's mood of course didn't go unnoticed by them but they all stayed silent and choose to not ask anything

Daeven also just nodded and didn't ask anything even the whole ride was so silent for his liking so he tried to lighten the mood but Sean wasn't even listening to him, he was out the whole ride

"thank you" Sean smiled weakly at him and walk towards their house in daze making Daeven even more curios of what happened so he rushed on his way back home to talk to his brother

"where's Darcel ge?" he immediately asked

"he locked himself in his room" Maison answered

"why? Did something happened?" Liam

"that's also what I want to know Sean was somehow acting strange when I sent him home" Daeven

"did something happened since the time Sean came back after he and Darcel left a while ago I noticed how he became so silent" Shawn

"I'll go try and talk to my brother" Daeven said and went to his brother's room

Even after so many knocks Darcel wasn't opening his door nor responding to Daeven's call

"ge please open the door" Daeven pleaded but he still didn't receive any reply

Darcel was there in the corner of his dark room hugging his knees, no tears can be seen in his face yet his heart is broken to pieces 'that's right Darcel you can't drag him back to somewhere he long ago left... you can't dag him down with you' Darcel continued to convince himself he did the right thing his thought got interrupted when his door open and Daeven came in and saw Darcel in that condition he knew immediately that something really did happened. Something serious

"what happened?" he softly ask as he sat beside his brother

"I just rejected him" Darcel said weakly staring at the dark ceiling

"what?" Daeven ask surprise

"he... he confessed actually a while ago" Darcel

"he did?" Daeven ask not believing what he just heard and Darcel just nodded

"then why'd you rejected him?" Daeven

"I can't Daeven you know what's going on right now... I can't just drag him down with me nor can I sleep at night thinking I'll just bring him back to somewhere he long ago left and I can't put him in danger" Darcel closed his eyes as he heard his heart and soul breaking to pieces with his every word

Daeven can't even speak hearing his brother's confession he knew clearly what his brother is afraid of

"he doesn't belong to our world, it's too dark and cruel for an innocent soul like him" Darcel whispered but Daeven heard it

Daeven just sighed as he knew his brother is right so he just tapped his brother's shoulder as a comfort

"will you be okay?" Daeven ask

"I'll be as long as he is safe and sound... I'll be fine as long as he live" Darcel said as he close his eyes and lean his head on the wall and both just sat there in silence
