"I just wanted to say I love you. Ansley. You only you. And I am deeply truly sorry if I had hurt you in anyway. I don't like Ruby at all. I only fancy you. Ever since you posted the note on the 'take notice' board I couldn't stop...

Ansley wakes up that morning still in her dirty green spotty dress. She got up and got ready and went downstairs for breakfast. But breakfast is not what she saw. She saw frowning faces and Anne and Diana in her house.
"What's the matter?" Ansley questioned, confused on what's going on.
"Ansley, I think you will want to sit for this" her mother proceeded to say and Ansley did as she was told, she sat down waiting for a response.
"You know Mary had fallen ill right?" Anne began, "Well the Charlottetown doctor came to Gilbert's this morning," Anne's voice begins to crack, "She is dying and she doesn't have long."
Ansley felt her stomach tossing and turning in a bad way, her head spinning, her face contorting from emotion to emotion not understand how to respond to that. "Delphine, but Delphine won't grow up with a mother, poor Delphine" She finally spoke, "I would like to see Mary" she requested.
Anne and Diana looked at each other and did a little nod then looked at Ansley and did another nod towards her. Ansley got up and the three girls made their way to Gilberts.
As they arrived, they all just went in and went towards Mary's room. "Hello Girls, Ansley I'm going to guess you heard the news" She smiled, a fake one at that. Trying to stay strong.
Ansley went up and hugged Mary as tight as she could without hurting her to much, maybe a little. The four girls laughed, cried a little, had tea, bonded, and cried more. But they all decided something for Mary, without her knowing, a little get together for her. One last time thing.
Before they would do it Ansley wanted to go see Moody. So she told everyone her farewells and went off to Moody's. She knows her way since she is at Gilberts so it'll be an easy journey.
As she gets to his house she notices someone leaving, Ruby. Ruby god damn Gillis leaving Moody Spurgeons house. Her hurt does the same clutching thing it did when he gave her his handkerchief. It started because of that stupid handkerchief.
Tears start forming when she notices someone staring. Moody. Moody is staring, watching the tears form. So tears start to form more and more with every second that he stares. How much more can she endure of this till her heart breaks into a million tiny pieces that are unable to be put back together with the words "I'm sorry."
He starts walking towards her, she wants to back away. Needs to back away. But her legs just would not move; like time is frozen for her. Although time may be frozen it can not rewind nor fast-forward so she just stays there. Till her knees give in and she falls. Although she doesn't fall. Someone catches her before her damn dress gets dirty. The dress can not get dirty.
"Ansley, Ansley, Ansley" she hears someone calling her name repeatedly, "Ansley, Ansley" the calling continues. She snapped out of whatever she was thinking and looks up to who catch her, it was Moody to no surprise that was.
"So are you and... Ruby" Her voice begins to crack, she begins to mumble and go on and on about Ruby and how perfect the two would be. She cries more in his arms.
"Ansley, she was only there to give me a new handkerchief" Moody try to reason but she cried more at the words 'handkerchief' because that's what started it all. One piece of cloth started all this heart break for Ansley.
Moody held her tight in his arms, a strong embrace. "Mary is dying" She tries to say without crying even more, "Bash's wife" She ends.
"I heard" he said trying to comfort her in ways she needed to be comforted, "Why don't you come inside, For some tea" He asks reassuringly, trying to get the crying girl inside before another one of her dresses gets dirty. She nods and walks with him inside.
"Sit down, it wont be long" He says pointing towards the couch as he makes his way to the kitchen. She sits and ponders about his house, a house she has never been in but who knows how many times Ruby has. That very though made her wanna cry again, she is very emotional. More emotional then Ruby.
Once the tea is finish he sits down next to her and hands her the mug. It was silent for a long while until Ansley finally spoke something "Moody Spurgeon, I can't love you in fear of hurting you" Moody tries to reply but she continues "But maybe it's not the fear of hurting you, it's the fear of you hurting me" Her tears ran dry, her cheeks stained with tear marks, finally Ansley stopped crying after she had been crying for the full day.
Moody has nothing to say, his words had ran dry like the girl's tears. He tried to speak but Ansley got up and starts to leave. Moody reached out to her hand to stop her. She turned to face him, he was close. They were both close to each other. Ansley yanks her hand away and walks out.
It's time for Mary's thing and everyone she knows and loves is there, besides two girls she doesn't know. The two ladies are Constance and Joycelyn. She greets them and most of the ladies begin cooking and preparing at the Barry's.
It's a wonderful Easter surprise for Mary, filled with flowers, paper butterflies, a bed just for Mary. Everything a lady could dream of. Mary has no words, it's as beautiful as it could be.
There's gift giving, hugging, crying, eating, and bonding. Ansley is hanging out with Mary most of the time during this. She tells Mary her problems.
"Well seems to me you walked out on a bad note with him" She adds to her previous note. Ansley is taken a bit back by this but agrees because she did walk out with a bad note.
"I don't know what I'm feeling, do I love him? Or is love just a children's word to express a toy?" Ansley questions, mostly questioned towards herself.
"Oh dear, Love is something you feel for what is right, not just for a toy. Never see anyone's worth as a toy. Even yourself has greater worth. That boy, he may love you as well. But if this so called Ruby is the one he loves then let him love her. If you love him or even just fancy him you would let him be happy. You would find your own happiness in his. But remember marry for love nothing more and nothing less" Ansley brings her in for a tight hug, and wont let go. She can't not when she is about to lose her.
"You give great advice you know that" Ansley chuckles wiping a tear with her backhand. Mary smiles and thanks her for this and for everything. Making Ansley cry more tears than she thought she had.
Ansley gets up and everyone gathers around Mary. Everyone starts singing and then some start to say a few words and then Mary reads her favorite prayer, everyone gets a bible and reads along. a few days pass and so does Mary. How happiness can bring everyone together and one day can destroy it all.
A/N
I cried a little at the end making this chapter. I hated that episode but loved it with all my heart. Seeing Mary as a mother figure to Anne was the sweetest most amazing thing in Anne with an E. She was the second thing closest to Anne as a mother, Marilla being first. Her dying really effected me on the show and as everyone else on the show. Anyways i hope you enjoyed the chapter!! I'll be making the next one right now but wont publish it till tomorrow! Also i decided to split this into two parts, I have someone special i wanna add to give a little... drama. Anyways take care!!
