Steve lay in between your legs with his head on your stomach. You really wanted to enjoy this moment, but it was really difficult to do that when there was a 30-foot monster chasing behind you. "Y/N" Steve spoke, to which you responded with a soft 'hm?'.
"What you did back there was, really brave.. and hot" his words made you smile. "Well, I could've been the one saying those words to you if you weren't being so stubborn" you laughed. "I know, I just wanted to protect you, I'm sorry.." he apologized. His words seemed so genuine. "It's okay" you forgave. You kissed the top of his head and ran your fingers through his hair.
"Suzie, do you copy? I repeat, Suzie, do you copy?" Dustin's voice could be heard from the walkie-talkie. Steve sat up and grabbed it, leaning against the walls of the car across from you. You weren't really expecting a response from Suzie, but to your surprise, he got one.
"This is Suzie, I-I copy!" your eyes widened as you snatched the walkie-talkie from Steve, trying to get a better listen.
"Suzie!" Dustin exclaimed.
"Dusty-bun??" she sounded like such a sweet girl after all.
"Where have you been?" she interrogated.
"I'm so, so sorry! I-I've been really busy.. trying to save the world from Russians and monsters" he admitted.
"Of course you have.." she giggled.
"So, why don't we change frequency to 14.158?" he asks.
"Copy that, shifting frequency, stand by!" she leaves for a second.
"No way.." you say to Steve with your eyes the size of golf balls. "That's-" "Suzie" you cut him off. "Guess she is real after all" he states.
"Dusty-bun, you copy?"
"I copy, Suzie-poo, it sounds much better now, thanks.. So listen, Do you know Planck's Constant?"
"Do you know the earth orbits the sun?" she replies, to which Dustin chuckles.
"So I know it starts with.. two sixes, and then uh.. W-what is it..?" he interrogates.
"Okay, let me just be clear on this.. I haven't heard from you in a week, and now you want a mathematical equation that you should know so you can.. save the world..?" She sounded quite disappointed.
"Suzie-poo I promise, I will make it up to you as soon as possible" Dustin promised.
"You can make it up to me now.."
"What..?"
"I want to hear it.."
"No, no! Not right now!"
"Yes, now, Dusty-bun!"
"Suzie-poo, this is urgent!"
"Yes yes, you're saving the world, I heard you the first time, but Ged is also saving Earthsea and he's about to confront the shadow, so this is Suzie signing off."
"Wait wait wait! Okay, okay.." Dustin finally accepted. What were they doing??
