Lunchtime had come around, and the pep rally had ended just over an hour ago. You walked into the cafeteria with your arm linked with Steves. You watched as people piled into the room, filling it up quickly as you made your way to the table in which you usually sat alone with Steve, with occasionally a few other people. If they weren't with the Hellfire club, those people were Dustin and Mike, but not today.
You never sat with the basketball team, all they did was talk shit. They were too much.
"That was the shittiest speech I've ever heard.." you said to Steve as you placed your tray onto the table. "I don't think it was that bad.." he admits. You turn your head towards him. "Come on, you can't tell me he didn't just say all that shit about my brother and the others for attention!"
"I guess you're right, but on the other hand-" he's interrupted by someone yelling on the top of a cafeteria table. You looked up to see it was the infamous Eddie Munson. "But as long as you're into band, or.. science or.. parties.." he said in a weird voice. "Or a game where you toss balls into laundry baskets!" he placed his hands around his mouth like a megaphone, and you turned to see that he was talking to Jason. "You want something, freak??" he yelled, to which Eddie stuck his two index fingers up to his head and stuck his tongue out, making a demon-like noise.
"What a weirdo.." Steve insulted, poking at his food with his fork. "You're just jealous because Dustin has another older friend and he doesn't sit with us anymore" you tease, nudging him in the arm. "Am not, you really think I'm jealous of some freak?" your eyes widen and you stare back down at your food.
"Relax, Harrington, I'm just kidding!" you lift your head back up, placing your hand behind his neck and making him face you. "Mhm, are you really though.." he jokes, kissing your lips a few times. "Maybe.."

"Holy shit, that was fucking awesome!" you sang as you jumped up and down around Steve. The championship game had just ended, and Steve was about to drive you home for the night. "Tell me about it" he cheered, shooting you a warm smile. He had stopped and noticed Dustin and Mike walking outside with the Hellfire club.
You spotted Lucas walking with his friends, getting ready to leave. You decided to go congratulate him one more time. "Lucas!" you shouted, waving your hand in the air as you jogged over. "Great job tonight! That was awesome!" you congratulated and he replied with a simple 'thank you', but he looked upset and you knew exactly why.
"Any luck with Max..?" you sigh, raising your eyebrows a bit. He shook his head no. "She'll come around, I know she will" you reassured. "I'm starting to think I really messed things up.." he sounded discouraged. You placed your hand on his shoulder. "I'll try to talk to her tonight" you smiled. He looked like he had cheered up a bit. "Thank you, Y/N, what would I do without you" he joked.
"Lucas! Come on man!" one of his friends ran up to him, grabbing his arm and leading him away. "Thanks again, Y/N!" you laughed. You felt Steve's arms wrap around you from behind as you watched Lucas run off with his friends. "What was that all about?" he asked, turning you to face him. "He and Max aren't doing so good" you looked up at his face, explaining the situation. "So I said I'd talk to her for him."
"That's nice.. should we get going now?" he offered, taking your hand. "Yup, It's getting late and I gotta make dinner for Max" you informed before leading him to the car. "What a lovely big sister you are" he jokes. "Right?"
