-5 months later-
It was almost spring break. You and Steve attended Hawkins High, and it was your last year before you went off to college. You didn't have very many friends. As much as you wanted to, you and Nancy didn't get along very well, and the Byers had moved to California. Mike, Lucas and Max were still around of course. Apart from them, you made a new friend, and her name was Robin. She and Steve get along great, too.
Lucas had joined a basketball team and grew distant from Max. She would act like she didn't care, but deep down, you knew that she missed him so much. She missed how things used to be. Not only that, but El had also moved away with the Byers. They had such a strong friendship, but her leaving made Max fall into a depression or something. All you wanted was to help her feel better, but she had been pushing you away, too. Your own sister and you didn't even know why. You had also joined the basketball cheer team, and you met a nice girl, her name was Chrissy.
Right now, you're in the passenger seat of Steve's car listening to him ramble about random things. He had been talking so much that you had lost track of what he was talking about in the first place. Robin sat in the back seat applying some mascara.
"Robin, are you listening?" Steve yelled, looking into the rear view mirror. She stutters "Y-Yes, I'm listening!"
"What did I just say?" Steve interrogates. "Uhh.. something about sex with Linda" this sentence caught your attention. "Umm.. Steve Harrington you better goddamn not" you raise your head up from the window, staring him right in the eye. "What?? No, I'm talking about Y/N!" he corrects. You roll your eyes, leaning on your seat.
"Cut me some slack, please!" Robin shouts, sorting through her makeup. "Your love life is one of labyrinthine complexity, and it is 7 in the morning, we have this stupid pep rally, and I woke up looking like a total corpse!" she rambled. "Yeah Steve, you'll never know the troubles of being a woman" you ridicule.
"You're worried about a basketball pep rally? Am I really supposed to believe that?" Steve doubts. "Yeah, so?"
"Soo, we all know what this is about, ok? We're not buying that, this is about Vickie!" Steve continued. She was really red, and you couldn't tell if that was just her blush or her actual skin turning red from his comment. "Absolutely not.." she denied. "Yes, it is! And you know what else I think? I think you gotta stop pretending to be someone else when you're around her! You just gotta be yourself."
"You're literally quoting me to me.. you do realize that?" she stated, putting down her makeup for a second "Well.. maybe you need to listen to yourself, ever think about that?? Y/N, tell her!" he ordered. "No, tell him how stupid he sounds right now!"
"I-I, I think that.." they both just stare at you, waiting for a response. "I think that you're both right.. in your own way!" you rub your forehead, really not knowing what to say. "Seriously?" they say in unison. You shrug your shoulders in response.
"You ask out a girl and she says no, nothing happens, maybe your ego's a little bruised, but I ask out the wrong girl and BAM, I'm a town pariah!" she slaps her forehead. "Yeah, I'd buy that, except Vickie is definitely not the wrong girl! She returned Fast Times, paused at 53 minutes, 5 seconds. Do you know who pauses Fast Times at 53 minutes 5 seconds?" the car goes silent for a minute.
"People who like boobies, Robin!" he yells, and you scrunch your face. "Ew, gross, don't say boobies!" you advise. "Don't say boobies!" Robin shouted. "It's not a big deal, okay?? I like boobies, well.. Y/Ns boobies.. You like boobies, Y/N likes boobies... Vickie likes boobies! Definitely!" he rambled. That part about you made you cringe.
