Jeon Jungkook wonders what the feeling across his chest is that has his mind completely occupied with questions. It was Sunday afternoon and all he could think about was Roseanne Park. The more he attempted to distract himself, whether it was from a work out or by drowning himself in a Netflix movie, his fingers still couldn't help but swipe through the photos from her birthday party, re-reading her text time and time again and the photo she sent him wearing the bracelet. He knows, that he shouldn't feel this way—firstly, there were professional boundaries that shouldn't be crossed and it'll surely set dangerous precedent for the idea of "office romances." Secondly was the fact that Jeon Jungkook doesn't do relationships and even shudders at the memories of his last girlfriend, as in, the one who he'd dated briefly when he was sixteen years of age. And then of course, was the fact that he didn't know how she felt too—perhaps, the most compelling of reasons out of them all.

A part of him wanted to dangle at the idea of something more, and he's at least 87% certain that she does too if he gauges by the way he catches her staying almost adoringly at home when she thinks he's not noticing. They seemed to be two people who sat on the same wave length—passion for wine, lover for food and an energy for challenge. Something about Roseanne Park showed him that she was not the type of person who'd accept a win easily— she thrived at the feeling of hard work, making victory taste sweet as honey.

It's 5PM now and Jeon Jungkook wonders whether he should start on dinner or order out. Would it be too much to potentially invite Ms. Park too? Perhaps so. He takes out his phone, contemplating whether he should said what feels like a risky text before getting a call from Jisoo Kim. She's frantic on the phone, telling him about how one of the main investors for his company invited him to a networking event in the form of a birthday party. He asks her why she's telling him and not his assistance.

He doesn't like it.

Networking events were a drag, though he knows that they're important to keep business flowing and to scout investors too.

"Roseanne isn't picking up her phone it's off, I guess she's having a work free day," Jisoo Kim informs him on the other line, "... I can accompany you. Their company buys 20% of our wine stocks."

"Who's birthday party is it even?" He questions, not hiding the annoyance in his tone, "... can't we just skip it, it's quite last minute anyway..."

"It's for the daughter of the Park Hotels & Casino owner, Mason Park. Apparently there's going to be an announcement too, there's a rumour saying that he's sick and that they're going to sell shares," she informs him, "... it's settled, right? The car will come in an hour—go get ready now."

Note: in my mind consider Park Hotels & Casino to be as big as the Hilton brand.

Jeon Jungkook hates these kinds of events.

Outside of the food, he believes they serve absolutely no purpose, outside of being a case of rich people flaunting their wealth.

Why couldn't they spend their money for charity, instead?

He always feels like an outside when it comes to these things, because while he's technically a millionaire, everyone else was trillionaires. But he knows the Park group well, and that there was so much more potential that could come from getting his foot in the door and at least, greeting the CEO first and foremost. Thankfully, Jisoo Kim is unlike him, blending seamlessly like a chameleon while he sits out like a sore thumb, she's making small talk and looking around the room when she spots the CEO a few metres away.

"Jungkook!" She whispers, pinching him as he downs another glass of champagne (as though it'll make things any more bearable), "... he's there, Mr. Mason Park. We should try to introduce ourselves."

Jeon Jungkook squints his eyes to the direction that Jisoo Kim was indicating, noticing an older male who seemed like the typical Korean father, if he were honest, albeit slightly taller than most. As he makes his way towards him, the older man must have noticed and smiles at him.

"Jeon Jungkook? I watched your vogue cover, I'm so glad you could come!"

I guess the stupid video wasn't a bad idea after all.

Jeon Jungkook bows a full 90 degrees before shaking the older man's hand, before introducing him to his secretary, "... this is my secretary, Jisoo Kim. We're so honoured to get an invitation."

"Are you two dating?" He questions casually, "... my family loves to host events, tonight it's for my daughter, it's her birthday celebration—technically it was on Friday but we thought the party would be better on a weekend."

"No, I'm actually married," Jisoo Kim informs him, before joking, "... seeing him during the week is enough, I couldn't possibly handle a full seven day week with him."

"Is your daughter around? We've love to say hi," Jeon Jungkook ignores her.

Mason Park takes a look around, frowning, "... she might be busy socialising but I'm sure you'll see her around. So how about you Jungkook, are you married too?"

He shakes his head, "... no Sir."

"How old are you? I guess you really should meet my daughter, then," Mason Park continues, and he doesn't quite know how to react but before he could, "... oh there is it. Chaeyoung!"

Jeon Jungkook and Jisoo Kim turn their heads at the same time towards the direction he was calling, thinking that luck really was on their side.

Until, a familiar blonde, clad in a black gown emerges from the crowd.

Between the four, only Mason Park's eyes weren't wide open as though they were ready to pop out.

"Meet my daughter, Chaeyoung Park. It's actually meant to be a surprise for the end of the night, but—she'll be taking over the company in two years time, I'll be going into retirement."

"Jungkook!"

She hates how vulnerable her voice sounds as she runs in heels, chasing after him as he rushes out of the venue.

"Jungkook, please slow down I'm wearing heels—"

He turns, and she swears to God that she'd never seen so much anger in his eyes.

"Jungkook? Are we on first name basis now? Should I call you Roseanne? Or does Chaeyoung sound better?" His words hitting like acid.

"I can explain," she reaches her hand out to his elbow, which he harshly pulls away.

"So I can listen to more lies? Have you lied to me from day one? Save your breath," he yells back.

"Why are you angry? It's not that big of a deal and I can explain, Jungk—Mr Jeon," her voice slightly shaky, "... please just listen to me."

"No, you listen to me," he looks at her with a glare, "... you, whether it's Roseanne or Chaeyoung or whoever the hell you want to be, whoever you really are—you're the exact type of person I despise the most. Congratulations, Ms. Park."

Before she could run, she feels a hand holding her back.

Jisoo Kim.

"Jisoo, I can e—explain," she's almost begging now.

"Just give him some time, I know you have your reasons."
