I haven't done a mom + daughter reader yet so why not try 🤷‍♀️

Prompt: It's past your nap time and Nat still hasn't come to put you to bed.

You were sitting on the couch in the compound's living room as you tried to keep your eyes open.

The nap you were supposed to take 45 minutes ago hasn't happened yet because Nat hasn't come to get you yet. As you held tighter to your stuffed bunny, you kept watching the television in an attempt to stay awake.

10 minutes later

There is still no sign of your mom, and you are close to falling asleep. Rubbing your eyes, you decide to go and find her. Obviously, you can't forget Mr. Rabbit, your favorite stuffed animal.

Just don't tell the others.

Your Uncle Steve was walking towards the training room when you discovered him and asked him where your mother was.

"Uncle Steve," you called out to him. He turned around to see a very tired-looking you.

He knew that you always slept around the time he started his afternoon training, so he asked you confused, "Hey Y/N/N, isn't it your naptime?"

As you hugged Mr. Rabbit tighter, the stuffed rabbit probably suffocating, you sadly responded, "I don't know where mama is. She hasn't come to get me for my nap."

"Uncle Stevie, do you know where she is?" You murmured.

"I think she went into her office to do some work. Would you like me to take you there?" Steve asked you as he knelt down to your level.

"No, it's okay, I got it," you told him with confidence, happy to know your mom is in the compound.

"Alright, I will leave you to it, bye Y/N," The blond said as he got up and put his hand out for a high five.

"Bye Uncle Steve," you said as you gave him a high five and started to walk to your mom's office.

You trudged through the hallways of the compound until you reached your mom's office door. You tried to open it the first time but had no luck.

For your second attempt, you stepped onto your tippy toes and were able to reach the door handle. You turned it enough so the door would open a crack. You opened the door and looked at your mom, who hadn't noticed you yet.

Nat's POV

I've been in my office all day trying to finish up these last-minute mission reports. I didn't know how long I was there until I felt a tug on my pant leg.

When I looked down, I was met with a very tired and upset Y/N.  I looked at the clock on my phone and saw it was 2:40 pm, way past Y/N's naptime.

"Mama, you never came to get me for my nap," Y/N muttered quietly while playing with Mr. Rabbits' ears.

"I'm sorry bunny, I lost track of time," I answer back while picking Y/N up to bring her to my little office couch.

I lay her down and put a blanket on her to make sure she stays warm. I sit on the edge of the couch while stroking her head lightly.

"Go to sleep detka, I will be right here," I say as I kiss her on the forehead.

"Okay Mama," she tiredly answers back. I smiled softly while looking at the miracle in front of me. I never thought I could have children after the red room but somehow I was blessed with Y/N.

I went to get up from the couch once I was sure she was asleep, but once I got up I heard a small tired voice.

"No mama stay here," I heard coming from Y/N. As I looked down at her, I saw her eyes were now open looking up at me. Y/N then started to do grabby hands as an indication she wanted me to be there with her.

"Okay baby, I'll stay," I whispered back to her. I then looked at the couch and saw there probably wouldn't be enough space for the both of us. Y/N saw I haven't moved yet and decided to say something about it.

"Mama c'mon," she whispered quietly as she patted the space next to her.

"Hey why don't we go take a nap in my room, how does that sound?" I ask her while grabbing Mr. Rabbit from next to her.

"Okay!" Y/N excitedly says, she loves my bed seeing it made her feel like a big girl.

I picked Y/N up as she held onto the blanket with one hand and had her other hand around my neck. She laid her head on my shoulder as we adventured off to my room.

As we reached my door, I opened it and laid Y/N down on the bed. I gave her Mr. Rabbit and smiled when she said thank you.

I went to close the door of my room and then to my closet to find something comfortable to wear. I quickly changed and then, and walked over to my bed, where Y/N was waiting.

Once I laid down, Y/N immediately wrapped her arms around my neck and laid down on top of me. Mr. Rabbt too, of course.

I hummed a lullaby and rubbed her back to get her to fall asleep. As we were both slowly falling asleep, I heard Y/N talk quietly.

"I love you, mama"

I smiled softly and pecked her forehead.

"I love you too, angel"

I imagined something better but at least the ending is cute :)
