Chapter 32

I felt someone carrying my very exhausted self over the stairs,I think. Must be Stephan. Why is he carrying me?

I must've fallen asleep. It was night time when we met Catherine as I recall.

In the midst of my slumber, Stephan lays me down gently on the plush bed and I fall back asleep.

"Awww, what an adorable baby!" Leeya coos at the child in her arms. Who's baby is that?

I just realized that I am laying on the hospital bed. Is that baby.. mine?

"Thank you, I guess?" still unsure of what's going on. I know I am pregnant, but why is the baby already born?

After a while the door opens, and I see Stephan walks in with Daniel. Waait.. why are they walking together? Who's baby is it?

"Ahh.. there is my handsome son,"Stephan shows Daniel the baby. Oh, so it's his. I feel a pang through my chest. I can't imagine what Daniel is feeling right now, seeing my baby, Stephan's baby.

I can see Daniel forcing a smile. "You have a beautiful baby, Alexa and Stephan," he says politely. Since I know him so well, I can almost feel the pain he is feeling right now.

"If you'll excuse me, I must go wait for my parent's arrival at the hospital lobby," Stephan says, exiting the ward leaving Leeya and Daniel with me.

"How are you feeling, Alexa?" Daniel asks with concern. I am touched by his concern, despite all that I have put him through.

"I'm okay." I reply monotone. Leeya gives me a knowing look. I guess the tension between Daniel and I are visible to Leeya.

"You will make a wonderful mother,Alexa," Daniel reassures. "I have complete and utter faith in you," he continues.

I smile gratefully at his reassurance,"I hope so. And thank you, Daniel,"

He nods. His hand reaches out to touch my cheek, but before he could do so, the door opens. Stephan walks in and sees us.

"What do you think you are doing, Daniel?" Stephan approaches Daniel with his domineering stance. This is not good!

Daniel smirks at Stephan, unafraid, he replies,"Just making sure Alexa is okay after the long hours of labor,"

Stephan snorts,"Of course she is. It's her job as a woman,"

I reign in my emotions, hurt that Stephan is so cold towards me. "Stephan, Daniel, stop it! If you both want to fight it out, go outside. Don't do it in front of the baby."

Stephan clenches his jaw. "Why are you taking his side, Alexa?"

"I never said that. Nor did I imply it," I say coldly.

"Is that so? Alright then. My parents are here. I am taking our baby out to see them," Stephan grabs my baby from Leeya's arms. What?! No!

"Why not let them come in? You can't take my baby!" I panic.

"I can Alexa. The baby is my son," Stephan says.

"I gave birth to him! I went through painful hours of labor to bring him to this world! You didn't even ask me if I was okay with it, you weren't even with me when I was in labor!" I yell.

He did not say another word. Just gave me a cold glare,and leaves with my baby.

I jolt awake. Is the dream a sign? If I was to go through with this pregnancy? My eyes feel wet, I must've been crying in my sleep.
