After losing the chance to kill the mortal, the group of centaurs went to a secret hideout to meet Hera.
"What's the news? Did you kill her?" The Queen of Gods immediately asked.
The leader steps with a heavy face, nervous to deliver the news. "Apologies, my Queen. We weren't able to eradicate the mortal because the three Gods are protecting her."
Hera's hope shatters upon hearing it. She was, at least, hopeful that the centaurs could assassinate the mortal. She used them since the three male Gods can't hurt them.
"I see. . . " She turned her back on them, the tone of her voice sounds dark.
"If you will give us another chance, we might able to kill her this time—"
"No, you've done enough."
"I also want to apologize for making you hurt Apollo, Hermes, and Dionysus. I know all of you are great friends. Your friendship wouldn't be the same after I made you do the mission." She also added.
"Please don't apologize, my Queen. I wouldn't mind hurting anyone or even sacrificing myself for the sake of humanity." He firmly stated.
"Thank you Konstantinos and your army for your bravery and loyalty. You may go back now. "
The centaurs bow to Hera before leaving the dark cave.
After the centaurs left, she pace back and forth to think of another solution to end the mortal's life. A death that isn't brutal or painful. Just like how Aurora pricked her finger on the spinning wheel and sleep for eternity.
Hera doesn't have any choice but to summon Leto, Apollo's mother.
A portal suddenly emerged, lighting up the entire cave. Then a figure came out of it, revealing Leto with a confused face.
"Why did you summon me?" She instantly asked.
The atmosphere surrounding the two Goddesses is very awkward and unusual, considering what happened between them thousands of centuries ago.
Hera would rather blind herself than seeing Leto's face but she has to set aside her pride for this mission. Teaming up with Leto would increase the chance of killing the mortal since Leto is Apollo's mother. Hera knew this Goddess in front of her would do anything to prevent her son's tragic fate from happening.
"You must've been confuse why I decided to summon you on a random morning."
"Cut the chase, Hera." She can't longer hold the conversation.
Hera looks at her with a serious face as she steps closer, "Your son is indeed yours—both are troublemakers."
Leto raised a brow, "What do you mean by that? Are we still referring to THAT incident? After all those centuries, you still can't moved on? Is that why you summon me? To talk about that for a thousand time? If that's the reason, then I should go ba—"
