Broken Icelandic

Being the person I am I decided to use an Old Norse translator that I found so I could maybe use it in my new book. After translating a simple sentence 'Good day. How are you?' I went to google translate to see what it matched. It matched Icelandic. Old Norse is an old Scandinavian (Norway, Denmark and Sweden) language. Then I tried translating 'Well maybe if you had listened to me the first time everything would have been fine'. I got the Old Norse and put it into google translate. It still said Icelandic but it translated it to 'Well maybe if you had listed to me the first time the hydrogen difference ocean difference is huge' in English.
I did some more experiments:
English-Hello, my name is Loki
Google Translated English- Hello, my name is Loki

English- Why do I do such stupid things? Someone please tell me if you know.
Google Translated English- Why do you do such a stupid thing? any man please tell me if you know

English- I can't find my sanity. Please help me. I will accept any help.
Google Translated English- I may have less sanity. Please follow me. I will accept any accompaniment

English- I am currently sitting in a library. I just sneezed and now my nose is running but I don't have a tissue. It's quite annoying.
Google Translated English- I am currently sitting in library. I just sneeze and now my nose is running but I straighten oat tissue. It's quite annoying

English- Maybe if I continue writing I might find my sanity. It's unlikely. It's always good to have some hope though I suppose. Back to writing now.
Google Translated English- Maybe if I continue writing I know my sanity. That's unlikely. It's always good to hafsumrr vættthoughr ek suppose. Aptr to writing now

After this experiment I can conclude that either that wasn't real old Norse translator, which is very likely, Old Norse is just broken Icelandic, or Icelandic was formed from Old Norse but changed a bit.

I feel educated.
