21. Let's just talk today

About a week or so passed after I told the family I was pregnant. Today was a very early morning. The boys left early, and Kayla and I managed to finish the work fast enough for us to relax the rest for the day

Annabelle is still sick. She mostly stays in her room, but today Shaun brought her out and left her on the couch. I finished up with what I was doing and went to join Annabelle and Kayla in the living room. Annabelle was lying down in the 3 seater, and Kayla was on the 2 seater couch. I sat down on the single couch

I think the boys left early today to clean up after the storm we had. It's probably gonna be a lot of work

"So kayla, how do you feel now?" I asked her

Before she could answer me, we both heard Kendrick cry from upstairs. She quickly got up and went to fetch him, Annabelle fell off to sleep. She came back down with Kendrick and took a seat

"I'm feeling much better now," she said

"That's great to hear, and you look so much better."

"Yea, can I ask you something?"

"Sure," I replied

"Why did you block my ears when Jayden said he was sorry?"

Not this question

"Uh well.. I don't know if he told you what happens to girl babies in this family, " I said

"He told me, but why did you block my ears?" She asked again

"Because I didn't want you to hear that horrible sound of the baby's neck breaking," I told her slowly

She kept quiet and looked down at Kendrick, who was now fast asleep in her arms. At least she doesn't have to suffer and hear that bone breaking sound at night, every time you sleep.

"Was it that bad?" She asked

"Yea, it was, I'm glad you didn't have to hear it. But at least you have Kendrick, " I told her, trying to change the topic

"Yea, but what I dont understand is how i had twins."

"I also don't understand that, I heard that you either have twins from the mothers side of the family or the fathers side."

"My side of the family didn't have any twins, and I don't think Annabelle had any twins. None of the boys are the same age here," she said

"Then how did you end up with twins?"

If kayla's side didn't have twins and Jayden's side didn't have twins, then how did she end up with twins. I do wonder, though, what would she have named her daughter if her sons name is Kendrick

"Kayla?" I called for her

Kendrick was busy playing with her fingers

"Yes?"

"What would you have named your daughter?" I asked

"I dont know, actually, maybe sophie,"

"Sophie, well, that's new," I said

"What do you mean?" She asked in confusion

"I thought you were gonna give her something similar to Kendrick." I laughed a bit

"What?" She started laughing."What if I gave her Lamar? "

We both started laughing but not too loud, so we don't wake Annabelle and Kendrick up.

After a while of taking kayla, I took a small nap on the couch while I went to start dinner, I fried some meat and made mashed potatoes. I also made some sweet vegetables with cheese sauce on top. I see they bought things that they don't usually buy, I wonder why
