"Oh, darling, you don't have to-"
"I know what you're gonna say..."you don't have to apologize, I will always forgive you!" But there's more to this apology than...the relationship." Espresso cut him off. He then finally noticed...
"What happened to your hair?"
"Truth be told...I got it sliced off by a monster thing."
"Wow, never would have guessed."
Espresso chuckled. Madeleine gave him an offended stare.

"I for one like my hair short!" Madeleine stood up and folded his arms. Espresso just laughed.
"Okay, okay, I get it, I get it." Espresso smiled then stood up. Madeleine raised an eyebrow. "I'm waitiiiiing." Madeleine winked. Espresso sighed.

"I wanted to apologize for...my actions. Throughout these years of you trying to gain my trust back, and me not wanting to have given you my trust, things have been difficult. But ever since that argument we had when we were children, it was like...things completely changed for us. And I know we're adults, and yes, we change as we grow, but I've been keeping a lot of feelings from you because...well. I was afraid you'd decline them after all these years of me being an ass to you. But, I'm gonna be honest, I've always liked your company. I've always wanted to hang out with you but my gut just said to me that you were bad luck...but I do get now that since these things have happened, I really do wanna start over. I've missed you far too much and I just can't hold it in anymore." Espresso finally explained, letting out a sigh of relief. He folded his arms and looked down.

"I do love you, a lot. I always have. It's just... Nevermind. I'm sorry." Espresso teared up. He definitely didn't wanna cry in front of Madeleine and Latte. The knight was left to be completely speechless. Latte was in the back...speechless as well. It's very odd to see Espresso begging to be forgiven like that. Madeleine grabbed Espresso's arm and held him close. "Look at you, pleading for forgiveness. You seem really eager for me to forgive you, huh." Madeleine smiled. Espresso felt himself get hot. Real hot. The mage wiped his eyes. "I...I suppose." Espresso sniffled. Madeleine sighed. "Love, I forgive you. I understand you were afraid to tell me this early back...but I'm happy you told me now. At least I know how you feel now." Madeleine lifted up Espresso's face by his chin and kissed his cheek. "There's no need to apologize multiple times." The knight smiled.

Espresso's eyes filled with more tears as he crashed into the knight, pulling him into a hug. The knight hesitated before wrapping his arms around him. Latte smiled warmly. Watching her good friend reunite with his enemy just filled her heart with joy. Espresso had some low sobs. Madeleine hushed him.

"You're gonna be alright, settle down," Madeleine softly rubbed Espresso's back. The mages low sobs then turned into some loud sobs. Madeleine whispered some positive things in his ear to try and calm him down...it seemed to be working. Madeleine continued to hush him. "Breathe," Madeleine said. "Breathe for me, darling. Everything is okay, I'm here." Madeleine continued. Espresso continued to sob, but it seems his throat was getting a bit sore from crying so much; so it just escalated to him sniffling while catching his breath. He really doesn't know what's ahead of him. Maybe Madeleine will be with him for good...he doesn't know. Maybe he can learn something.

Maybe.
