(Dang, this book turning looooong.)

You crept through the darkness after Steve, tattered clothes getting snagged by more branches as you scurried through. You ducked below the line of bushes as you hurried. Steve was not far ahead, stopped suddenly and lifted a hand for you to do the same. You squatted even lower.

          Crunch, crunch, crunch

Thick shoes on gravel sounded as heavily armored guards strolled past, their crossbows loaded and ready to fire any minute. Steve rose his hand over his back just a little, counting down with his fingers. You prepared. You both did.

"Hhh, will you guys PLEASE stop making fart noises back and forth through comms?" One's hand presses against his earpiece. After a paused, "Alright, that's it. I'm muting you guys."

The other spoke up softly, not having a similar earpiece. "Are you sure that is a good idea..?"

"I....maybe?"

Then, suddenly, the two of you sprang out of the bushes, catching the two armored ones off guard and pulling them out of sight immediately. They flailed and expelled muffled shouts, but thankfully no one noticed. Steve grabbed a small canister of something and poked both of them with it. Only a few seconds later, they were out. You marveled for a moment at the man's handy little trinket.

Smiling up at you faintly, "Like it? Created it a while ago. Very useful for emergency situations, especially when Herobrine'd come to visit." He chuckled faintly. You two were quiet for another moment as you slowly set the two against a tree, hurrying to strip them of their weapons. "Alright. One of these guys is a little one. Shall we Rock Paper Scissors over who gets the bigger suit?" Steve smirked. You didn't exactly like how casual Steve was being here; behaving as though he'd done it a hundred times before.

"I'll- I'll just take the smaller one.." You gave up the chance at comfort and just let him have it. Your mind was fogging a little too much anyways to handle a game of all things. Steve chuckled.

"Ight. Let's hope it fits!"

"Can you...um.. undress both of them..please?

"Why?"

"..."

"Ah. Alright." You vanished behind the tree as Steve pulled off the necessary bits of armor and clothing needed to fit in. Thankfully, both men still wore shorts and tank-tops under their attire, so it wasn't as awkward as you worried it might have been. Both appeared to be of the Immortal kind too. So that really must have meant this island was almost entirely populated with them!

The forest were thick around Notch's castle. You almost felt more like you were breaking into a secret military facility. The palace was embedded in the very mountains, dozens of discrete gravel roads winding through the trees to reach the nearly hidden entrances. Not exactly the castle you were expecting the literal creator of this world to live in!

You and Steve marched down the gravel path up towards one of these small doorways carved into the very rock itself. You entered a tunnel with some other guards, you trying to make it obvious how improperly sized your clothing was. It was a warm afternoon, too, and you still had your old warn clothes underneath the full body gear. After departing from the other two guards with the excuse that you needed to go to the bathroom, Steve pulled out a map left in the previous guard's pockets and lead you again through the labyrinth of perfectly bland concrete road sized tunnels. This level was literal chaos, roads passing through one another like an ant hill's tunnels! At last, you two found some stairs and made your way upward.

Ding! Ding! Ding!
Tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk

Bright, colorful lights and loud noises filled the second story. Steve had to cover his ears for a moment as he adjusted beside you. As you exited the stairway, you found an entire casino spanning for miles all around! Men and women of all ages, races, and statuses were all found gambling away at the machines and tables. Your white eyes under the sunglasses widened. Steve wore sunglasses too, so other than the hair length and difference in clothing size, it was hard to tell who was who.
