Eleven was still screaming on the ground in pain due to the wound in her leg. I wanted desperately to help her, but I didn't know how.

"What is that?" Erica asked in disgust.

"There's something in there." Mike observed as El's wound started moving due to something being inside her leg. El continued to scream in pain.

"Jesus Christ." Dustin said distressed.

"Keep her talking. Keep her awake, okay?" Jonathan ordered as he ran towards the Chinese restaurant. I ran beside him to help him pick out what we needed. Once we got inside the restaurant, Jonathan started going through drawers and I followed his actions. He picked up a wooden spoon and gloves as I found a knife that would be sharp enough to help El. I held it up to him.

"Jonathan, this will work, right?" I asked and he nodded taking the blade from me.

"Thanks." He said as he started to walk back.

"Wait, shouldn't you sterilize it first?" I asked and he nodded as I turned the gas burner on.

"Good thinking, Frankie." He praised and I nodded. He held the blade over the burner until it got hot enough to kill any bacteria. "Let's go." He said and we both ran back to help the girl. "Okay. All right, El? This is gonna hurt like hell, okay?" Jonathan asked.

"Okay." She weakly replied.

"Need you to stay real still." Jonathan ordered. He handed me the wooden spoon.

"Here, you're gonna want to bite down on this, okay?" I asked her gesturing to the wooden spoon in my hand and she nodded as I placed it in her mouth.

"Do it." Mike said supporting El as Jonathan prepared to get whatever was inside El's leg out. Jonathan began cutting El's leg as she screamed in pain. Once the incision was large enough, he placed the knife down and put his fingers in the cut and began digging around to get the creature out, but El stopped him and said she could do it herself. She struggled, but eventually got it out of her leg and threw it across the mall. It tried getting away, but then a foot stomped on it. It was revealed to be Hopper, Joyce, and some other man that I didn't know. Once everyone reunited, we regrouped and began explaining the situation.

"The Mind Flayer, it built this monster in Hawkins, to stop El, to kill her and pave a way into our world." Mike explained part of the story.

"And it almost did. That was just one tiny piece of it." Max added solumnly.

"How big is this thing?" Hopper asked.

"It's big. Thirty feet, at least." Jonathan answered his question.

"Yeah. It sorta destroyed your cabin. Sorry." Lucas revealed apologetically.

"Okay, so, just to be clear, this... this big fleshy spider thing that hurt El,
it's some kind of gigantic... weapon?" Steve asked to clarify.

"Yes." Nancy answered.

"But instead of, like, screws and metal, the Mind Flayer made its weapon... with melted people." Steve said unconvinced that this was really happening.

"Yes, exactly." Nancy confirmed again.

"Yeah, okay. I... Yeah, I'm just making sure." Steve said still in disbelief.

"Are we sure this thing is still out there, still alive?" Joyce asked for confirmation.

"El beat the shit out of it, but, yeah, it's still alive." Max stated knowing that it was in fact still alive.

"But if we close the gate again..." Will started.

"We cut the brain off from the body." Max added.

"And kill it. Theoretically." Lucas finished.

"Yoo-hoo! Yoo-hoo!" The man from earlier, whose name I learned is Murray said interrupting our conversation. "Okay, this is what Alexei called "the hub." Now, the hub takes us to the vault room." Murray explained from his blueprint drawings.
