Nancy and I were still trapped in the other Hawkins with the monster trying desperately to get out. I took a chance and ran to where Nancy was hiding. She was surprised that we didn't get caught by the monster.

"What are you doing?" She whispered.

"Listen, I'm going to distract this monster, you are going to get out of here." I said as she looked at me as if I was crazy.

"What? No! What about you?" She asked.

"I'll be right behind you." I said and she protested. "Listen, one of us needs to get out of here and you have the best shot. I will shoot at it and distract it. You find the portal and tell Jonathan about this place." I told her.

"No, we are going together." She said.

"I'm sorry, but you have to go." I said pushing her in the direction of Jonathan's voice. "Hey! I'm over here! Come here you big ugly bastard! You want some of this?" I yelled loudly distracting the monster allowing Nancy to run to the portal. She stopped at the portal and yelled for me.

"Frankie! Let's go! Come on!" She yelled. I saw that she wasn't far, but I also saw that the monster spotted me. I notched an arrow and shot it in the stomach. It screeched, but it barely slowed down. I ran as fast as I could towards the portal the monster was gaining on me, but as soon as I got to the hole, Jonathan's hand pulled me through to the other side. Normal Hawkins. I was breathing heavily in Jonathan's arms.

"Thank you." I said in between breaths as the portal to whatever the hell that place was closed.

"Don't mention it." He replied still breathing erratically. We were walking home and Jonathan offered to drive Nancy home. I was covered in goo and wanted desperately to shower. I walked into my house. Thankfully, dad was asleep, so I didn't have to explain my appearance. I quickly showered and rinsed all of the goo, dirt and mud out of my hair. I couldn't sleep. The screeching of the monster played on a loop in my head keeping me awake.

I tried to call Jonathan, but I received no answer. He must've been asleep. Must be nice. I was pulled from my thoughts when a rock hit my window. It must be Jonathan. I opened the window and looked down, but it wasn't Jonathan.

"Steve? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Ummm, can I talk to you?" He asked uncomfortably.

"Yeah, why don't you come through the front door." I suggested, but he started climbing up to my room. "Or not."

"That was easy." He said coming through the window and straightening out his clothes.

"What did you need to talk about?" I asked realizing that I was only in a baggy shirt and shorts. I crossed my arms to cover myself.

"Ummm... are you aware of where your best friend, Byers is?" He asked looking around my room.

"I thought he was at home, why?" I asked curiously.

"Because he's over at Nancy's house in her bed cuddling her." He said angrily.

"What?" I asked with tears starting to form.

"Yeah, that freak is with my girlfriend. She's cheating on me? With Byers?" Steve said sitting down on my bed.

"Listen, a lot went down tonight." I said, but Steve cut me off.

"What could possibly happen for that to be ok?" He asked. I didn't want to tell him about the monster, so I just stayed silent.

"Listen, I know that it sucks. Watching someone you love fall for someone else." I said sitting next to him.
