After the expedition, Erwin had moved you to Levi's Squad instead of Hange's for the sole reason of how Levi had lost his entire squad. You made no complaints since it's completely understandable and you want to be near Levi since he was injured.

You were at the Old Survey Corps Headquarters, moving your things in your new room. You were alone in the building as Eren was with Erwin since the government wanted Eren to be handed over. You expected a plan from Erwin to prevent that from happening.

On the other hand, Levi was up at the medical ward to check on his ankle.

After you were done settling in, you got out of your room and looked at the hallway. You walked by the various rooms that were owned by the previous Levi Squad and remincised the times that they were still here.

You heard a knock on the door of the entrance of the building and went to open it up. It was Hange. She walked in and sat down on one of the seats of the tables in the mess hall.

Hange: (Y/n), how are you feeling?

You sat down on the opposite side of her.

(Y/n): What do you mean?

Hange: About your first expedition. Was it what you expected?

(Y/n): Oh.

You thought about the expedition. Feeling failure and disappointment from the failed attempt to capture the Female Titan with only dead Scouts as the result of it.

(Y/n): Just feeling disappointed. We didn't gain anything from this expedition. Just dead comrades.

Hange looked at you with worry but she nodded at the words you said.

Hange: I've been meaning to tell you, since Erwin is busy scheming, Levi is injured, and I'm to remain in charge for now, I need you to do something.

You perked your head up at the request and edged her to go on.

Hange: I need you to go notify the families of the deaths of Levi's Squad. Levi would go himself but he's injured. Normally another officer would go but with the amount of deaths from the expedition, they're already notifying other families. I understand if you don't want to but-

(Y/n): Don't even finish that sentence. I'll do it.

Hange: Are you sure?

(Y/n): I have to. It's the least I can do for them.

Hange: Alright.

Hange gave you the different addresses of the families in Wall Rose. You thanked her and went back to your room.

You changed from your cleaning clothes to your Survey Corps uniform and looked at youself in the mirror.

Your face held a stone cold expression, the only reason for this was so you won't lose your bearing at giving the news to the family.

You went back down to where Hange was still sitting.

(Y/n): I'll be leaving now Hange. I'll see you later.

You turned and walked towards the exit. Hange got up from her seat.

Hange: (Y/n), wait.

You turned around only to be wrapped by comforting arms of Hange. She moved her head to your ear.

Hange: I'm so proud of you.

You nodded and gave her a hug back. After a warm embrace between the two of you, you walked to the stables and saw Nova.

You greeted her and mounted her and head for the first location.

-Timeskip-

You tethered Nova on a pole and walked to the residence of Oluo's family. You saw a few kids playing in the front and one of them saw you. They opened their eyes wide with glee and ran to you.
