After laughing at me,
Armes made his order:
Another two pints.

But he beckoned for me,
It appeared as though,
Our chat wasn't done.

Just below the wall's dear head,
The crazy monster,
Sat alone drinking.

I sat by the large man,
And for the second time,
I saw him get real.

Almost as a whisper,
Our talk of adventures,
Proceeded smoothly.

"Listen lad,
The only way to defeat your enemy..."
He paused.

"Is to be stronger than it!!"
Man was he drunk,
But I guess he was right.

I asked him how to get stronger,
"There's no easy way..."
He started off.

"Except through training.
By crushing your soul,
Until it comes back stronger."

His eyes showed battles,
You could tell by his words,
That he too, lived by them.

"Train me!"
I said innocently,
Not realizing how hard that would be.

He already did plenty,
Asking him to train,
Would be way too much...

I was caught thinking this,
I hated bugging others,
Let alone him.

Lost in these thoughts,
I felt a warm hand on my shoulder,
And words forming.

"I like that, lad!!
We'll start at once!!"
I wondered if he'd agree sober.

"I'm taking time off, lad.
After the last raid,
I need a rest from battle."

Regardless of his drinking,
I had done it;
I secured a master.

I thought,
If I had Armes training me,
I'd get strong in no time!

"After your shift, lad,
Meet me in the grove outside town,
That's where we'll start."

I agreed happily,
"But before that..."
He had a sinister grin.

"Who was that one lass?
Y'know, the one from last night?
You two were so cute!"

He teased me senseless,
Normally I wouldn't care,
But I still got red.

I asked him where she had went,
And he laughed again,
After one more drink.

"Well I had to carry you here,
But the lass woke up,
And went her own way."

I had lost her.
It'd be a miracle,
If I could see her again.

"She was quite a sweetheart,
Even though you snored,
She remained smiling."

I was horrified,
Maybe it would be best,
To not see her again.

Save my embarrassment,
But Armes kept laughing,
That's all he could do.

I swear,
If he wasn't my master,
That drink would've been on his head.
