Chapter 14

ASHRIEN'S POV:

My chest keeps pounding faster and faster as I walk together with the teacher towards the classroom I requested to be assigned with an hour ago. I can't deny that I am not nervous.

Yes, I decided to go back and see the outcome. I won't run away anymore. I realized that there are a lot of things I am mistaken of. What happened yesterday made me realized that I am a craven. I always say I am not, but I didn't realized I did things like such. I also used to believe that I know myself better than anyone else. But turns out I am not. I didn't expect that 'they' would be the one to tell me the part of myself I don't know of. And I also didn't expect that they would still want me after what I've done to them. 'They' are true treasure, and I found that treasure....and I'm never letting it go...

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Ano na naman kaya ang pinagkakaguluhan ng mga batang to  at sobrang ingay", biglang salita ng gurong kasama ko.

Pinakinggan ko naman ang tinutukoy nito na siyang nasa unahan at hindi ko mapigilang ngumite nang marinig ang pamilyar na mga boses. Ngunit agad rin akong natigil nang maalala ang nagawa ko sa kanila.

"Mr. Yu, could you stay here for a moment?", muling salita ng guru pagkarating namin sa pintuan ng classroom.

I just nodded at her.

Agad naman itong pumasok sa loob, nang tingnan ko ito mula sa labas ay may sinabi ito sa harapan na siyang ikinatahimik ng nasa loob. Maya-maya ay muling itong lumabas.

"Pwede ka nang pumasok Mr. Yu", bigay-paalam nito.

I nodded at her and step inside. The moment I went inside, I could feel their gaze towards me until I reach the center. When I face in front, their shocked faces greeted me.

"Narinig ko na kilala niyo na siya, so let's forget about the introduction. I just hope that you treat him well just like in the previous year ", basag ng guro sa katahimikan. "Atsaka, hindi rin pala ako magtatagal. May meeting pa kami mamayang 9 o'clock. Just use our time to study for the quiz tomorrow. Mr, Yu, you could choose any of those empty seats at the back", aniya at tinanguan ko lang ito.

"Sige class, maiwan ko na kayo", paalam nito at umalis.

Isang mahabang katahimikan muli ang namayani pagka-alis ng guro.

I sighed and was about to move so I can take a sit when one of them suddenly speak.

"Wala ka bang dapat na ipaliwanag sa amin?", tanong ni Cedric.

I am not surprised by his question. I have expected it. I am also not surprised why he knew about what happened 'on that day' even if he was not present and the others on the incident.

I was about to open my mouth to talk when Jay suddenly butt in.

"Tsk, anong klaseng tanong yan? Dapat ang tanong niyo ay ba't pa siya bumalik. So, ba't ka pa nga ba bumalik Ashton? Or should we really call you that?..", he asked in disdain.

"Jay..", Wade also chime in to warn him.

"What? Masama na bang magtanong?", Jay.

"Shut up!", biglang bulyaw ni Davinci sa kanya.

"Ikaw ang tumahimik!", ganti rin nitong sigaw sabay tayo ng upuan "Kayo ang tumahimik! Bakit parang wala lang sa inyo ang ginawa nang taong yan?! Niloko niya tayo, hindi niyo ba naiitindihan yun?! Pinagmukha niya tayong tanga! Tapos ngayon, babalik siya dito? Para ano? Para lokohin na naman tayo?!"
