Chapter 16 Journey

It was time to set out. You got dressed for the long journey ahead. Diluc had sent for more clothes to be made for you for the travels. Each outfit with its own cloak to help hide yourself so to avoid attacks. You thought it was a bit to much to see how he made sure everything had its own set but you said nothing against it seeing how pleased Diluc seemed with himself whenever you thanked him.

You gave Jean a letter with instructions to follow before leaving to Liyue. There you were going to board a ship you knew well. You were both excited and nervous. It would be a first for you to be traveling by boat especially the one you used as Aether to reach Inazuma. Once you arrived you met the captain of said ship welcoming you with open arms and thanking you for entrusting such a task of taking you to the island to her.

You stood on the deck of the Crux watching Liyue Harbor fade off in the distance. Like to Jean you have a letter of instructions to Ningguang. It's too late to go back now. You looked to the side to see Venti watching with you.

"Beidou said we best get some rest it going to take a bit to arrive" Venti said happy.

"That would be good" you said as you turned and spotted a certain anemo user from the top deck watching you. You looked up at him making eye contact. "Can I help you?" Kazuha jumped a bit.

"Apologies I didn't mean to stare at you your grace" he said.

"It's alright no harm done" you said amused. You felt Venti hug your arm again.

"Let's go your grace!" He said pulling you away. Kazuha watched you leave. He couldn't help it but stare. Something about you lured him to you. He wasn't sure what he was feeling but he knew it made him want to join you.

Beidou let you rest in her chambers saying it was the best place suited for you. You thank her happy and sat to rest. Venti joined you keeping you company making small talk.

Soon you heard Beidou yell to lower the anchor. You went with Venti to see you arrived at Inazuma.

"Here we are your grace!" Beidou said smiling. "And it looks like they were ready for your arrival" she said looking how there were some of the city's soldiers waiting.

"Let's get going your grace. Watch your step while getting off" Diluc said offering his hand to help. You took it thanking him as he helped you off.

"Greetings your holiness!" The group said in sync. "Please follow us our Archon wishes us to escort you and your company to meet her" the one in charge of the squad said.

"Thank you for coming here and pick me up. Please take me to her" you said as they bowed. You looked at the crew who brought you here. "Thank you again!" You said waving bye at them as you followed the solders "

"Anytime your grace!" Beidou yelled back waving bye with a smile. You walked through the city greeting the citizens as you passed about and like the cities before they greeted you and welcomed you. Looking ahead you started to go up the stairs to where the archon stays. The two gaurds opened the doors for you as you went in. With your group close behind.

When a letter arrived asking for be allowed to visit Baal she felt honored. She quickly sent a reply back allowing you to come. Afterall your the creator everything you do is perfection and you were all she wished to achieve. That said she made to prepare all the finest things her land had to offer. She would make sure to leave an impression on you and if luck would have it you would leave Mondstadt and instead stay with her here.

Baal was waiting for your arrival when he heard you finally docked at the port. The escorts she sent would soon arrive with you here and sure enough she saw you enter. With a mortal and it appears the anemo archon himself as well.

"Hello" you greeted her happy as she bowed.

"Welcome to Inazuma your grace" Baal said "I hope you had no trouble coming here" she stood up. While you were traveling she stopped her lighting storm so you could cross smoothly.

"None at all. On the contrary I had a very warm welcome." You said happy.

"Then how can I help you?" Baal asked.

"I'm here to find someone. It's a male with blonde hair long in a braid with golden eyes" you explained. Yes you were here to pick up what you left behind. If your plan was to work you would need Aether with you.

"I will set out a team to search at once" Baal said.

"Actually I have an idea where he might be and if I may I wish to be the one to personally go find him" you said.

".. if that is what you wish" Baal said. "You may do as you please your grace"

"Thank you" you said happy "then excuse me. I wish to find him as soon as possible."

"I shall await your return your grace." She said with a bow. You turned and left Venti and Diluc close behind. Xiao watched over you as usual preferably to stay away from crowds. You knew exactly where to go. You left Aether at the teahouse so that was your destination.

While walking you took in the sights. Inazuma had a certain charm to it that made it stand out than other places. Looking ahead you saw you arrived. Heading to the door the lady there was awed to see you arrive. She quickly let you inside. Thanking her you entered and greeted the cute doggie on the counter.

You heard a certain high pitched voice in a nearby room. You head towards it.

"A bite! That's all Paimon asking for!" The girl tried to get her companion to eat but to no avail. He remained silent. "Please! You need to have something!" The floating child whined.

"Come on you have to have something" Thoma said offering a spoonful of food to the travelers mouth only for him to look away.

The two were worried over him they didn't notice you open the door to their room.

"There you are" he heard. His eyes widen as he whipped his head around and saw you. There it was! That feeling returning to him. You were it! He got up and ran to hug you close.

"There you are" you said happy as you saw him look at you before suddenly engulfing you in a hug. You hugged him back happy.

"What took you so long?" He said hugging you close "why did you leave me?"

"I'm sorry I didn't mean for you to suffer" you said rubbing his back soothingly feeling your clothes getting wet.

"Don't leave me again " he said burying his face into you.

"I won't" you said . You stayed there comforting him letting him cry it out.

Venti and Diluc we're watching and they had to admit. They felt betrayed in a sense. How could Aether have such a connection to you? How come they didn't know sooner?

"Paimon wants to know what's going on!" The child said clearly tired of all the mystery happening.

"Paimon don't yell " Thoma quickly told her "show respect it's her Holiness " Paimon gasped.

"Is she what you were talking about??" She asked Aether. Aether was hugging you looked at his companion and nodded finally smiling.

"That's right. She was what I was missing" he said.
