CHAPTER SIX: the dive

SALEM THORN SAT IN THE BACK, UP AGAINST THE DOOR, LEGS THROWN OVER STEVE'S LEGS.
"Not to be a wimp, but can I sit in the car for this visit?" Robin asked. "Cause this is gonna totally and royally suck."
Salem tilted his head, head pillowed against Steve's shoulder. Salem leaned up, connecting his lips to Steve.
"And can you two stop making out for five seconds!" Robin yelled back. "It's terrible enough at work when we have no costumers! And we are here!" She widely extended her hands. "With people," she adds.
Immediately, both move away. They looked out the window, luckily (for them there was barely anyone around). "There's no one around."
"We are!" Robin gestured to the people in the car. "And you two act so sickly sweet I'm beginning to feel cavities."
"That's not how it works." Salem shakes his head. "Anyway, it'll be fine, Robs."
"Whatever you say, Sal," Robin replied back.
"Okay, back on track!" Nancy spoke loudly. "I swear- look, it'll be fine."
"I can't stand to see those doe eyes of Eddie's break again." Robin says. "I really, really can't."
"Yeah. It's extremely depressing," Salem spoke up.
"At least he can drink himself into feeling better," Steve holds up a pack of beer.
"That's what my mom does," Max speaks.
Salem reached out, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her.
"Why don't we give it a trail?" Robin questioned. "'Hey, Eddie. Uh, good first this time. We got you some Dustin-approved junk food and that six-pack you requested. Oh yeah's and we found Vecna. Bad news is that he's in that other, darker, much scarier dimension, and the gate's closer, so we have no way of getting to him. He's entirely shut off to us, so basically you're screwed. And, no, I know you were already screwed, but ow you're doubly, triply screwed."
