Chapter 12: Contest Of Champions: Part 1

Third Person POV

(Harlem: Day)

Black Panther was traveling on the roofs, he was doing it ease and acrobatics, he then landed on another roof and noticed nobody in the streets, "It's...quiet...too quiet." Black Panther said and then he was engulfed in a blue light.

(The Collector's Ship)

Black Panther was teleported onto a ship, he then got out his daggers and looked around, "What is-" Black Panther said then saw a giant figure standing before him, he recognized the figure and raised an eyebrow "The Collector...what do you want?" Black Panther said

and noticed all the heroes were encased in pods, along with civilians and villains, the Collector sighed "A game is happening...a contest of champions, if you will." Collector said and Black Panther was confused "What are you talking about?" Black Panther asked "I believe my brother is referring to our little bet." a voice said and Black Panther turned to see the Grandmaster

"A bet? All of this for a bet?" Black Panther said "My brother has never beaten me at games...this time, this game is a winner take all...if I win, I take Earth and use it for any games I want." Grandmaster said and Black Panther was shocked, "And if I win, Earth will be left alone." Collector said "My side is the villains, his side are the do gooders." Grandmaster said and Black Panther glared at him "Then I pray, we win." Black Panther said to Collector, "So do I." Collector said and Grandmaster chuckled "Let the games begin!" Grandmaster said and he snapped his fingers, causing Black Panther to be engulfed by a bright light.

(Jungle)

Black Panther was teleported into a jungle and got his daggers out, "This jungle...it's familiar." Black Panther said and he blocked a dagger thrown at him, he looked to see Taskmaster standing before him with his sword drawn, "The son of the Black Panther...get ready to meet your father." Taskmaster said and Black Panther slanted his eyes, "Taskmaster...you can copy anyone's fighting style with just a glance, flawlessly." Black Panther said and holograms of Grandmaster appeared, "This is the first round of The Contest Of Champions! We have a 4 man battle! One team, heroes, the other villains! Let's see who'll win." Grandmaster said and the hologram faded, "There's another person...I must be extra vigilant." Black Panther thought, and started fighting with Taskmaster, he landed several hits with his daggers, he then kneed Taskmaster in the face, he was stunned till he chuckled, "Alright, I understand you now." Taskmaster said and Black Panther tried punching Taskmaster, but he blocked and face palmed Black Panther in the face, he then kicked him in the ribs and threw him into a tree, Black Panther recovered and stuck to the tree, "He's learned my fighting style, I can't attack him, he'll block or parry, but...it's still my fighting style." Black Panther said and detached from the tree and landed in front of Taskmaster, "Whatever you think of doing kid, it's not going to work, I'm not a rookie." Taskmaster said and tried to kick Black Panther who leaned back and swept Taskmaster's feet, Taskmaster stood up and tried to palm strike Black Panther but he blocked and kicked him back, Taskmaster then threw his shield, Black Panther bounced off it and threw his daggers, hitting Taskmaster in his shoulders, "GAH!" Taskmaster said and looked at Black Panther, "You're good...almost good as your dad...any other moves?" Taskmaster said and Black Panther chuckled "Yes, actually." Black Panther said and purple lightning surged around him, he then surprisingly did a shadow kick, knocking Taskmaster out,

Then Taskmaster was engulfed in a bright light, "Taskmaster is eliminated!" Collector said and Taskmaster disappeared, "I must find my teammate...we can't do this alone." Black Panther said noticed a marking on a tree, he smiled "So we are in Wakanda...and I know this jungle." Black Panther said and started move through the trees with ease and agility.

(Training Circle)

Black Panther arrived at the training circle and smiled "The training circle...it's been a long time since I was here." Black Panther said and he walked around, he hit a old practice dummy and chuckled "Even after all these years...it's durable." Black Panther said then heard thunder crackling, he looked and saw his mother fighting against an unknown figure, "Mother!" Black Panther said rushed to her location.

(Far End Of The Jungle)

Storm was fighting against Tigershark, who was surprisingly doing well at blocking her blasts, "Finally, I get a chance to end the queen of Wakanda!" Tigershark said and lunged at Storm who knocked him away with wind, "You will not lay a hand on me, Tigershark...stand down." Storm said and Tigershark snarled "I will never surrender!" Tigershark said and was attacked by two panthers made out of purple lightning, Storm raised an eyebrow "Give up Tigershark...unlike my mother, I don't ask twice." a voice said and both Storm and Tigershark saw Black Panther perched in the trees, "You again?! I'll-" Tigershark said but one of the panthers scratched his face, Black Panther flipped off the threes and landed in front of Storm, "Hello mother." Black Panther said and Storm smiled "I see you're being more creative with your powers, my son." Storm said "I am...and I see you've met Tigershark." Black Panther said and the panthers snarled at Tigershark who was cornered against a tree, "I have...how do you know him?" Storm said "I helped Water Snake stop Tigershark from betraying Atlantis." Black Panther said "And who is this Water Snake?" Storm asked and Black Panther nervously chuckled "She's my...girlfriend." Black Panther said and Storm was shocked "What?" Storm said and Tigershark yelled "Fine! I give up! I've had enough!" Tigershark said and the panthers faded away, "Good." Black Panther said and kneed Tigershark in the face, "Tigershark is eliminated! Black Panther and Storm win!" Grandmaster said appearing in the sky, then they were all engulfed in a bright "We will talk about this!" Storm said and was teleported, Black Panther sighed and was teleported away.
