Hello James

James is standing in front of me. He's trying to look casual but comes off as all nervous and sort of almost shy. Which only makes him hotter. As if that were necessary. In the black jeans, the white shirt and the leather jacket he looks like a cover model anyway. Suddenly I'm almost glad I was out with Colin. Otherwise I would never have ended up here in the bar and would not have seen him again.

Bucky: Victoria

He greets me and smiles shyly at me. My whole body starts to tingle at the sight of that smile. God, what is this guy doing to me? He sits down on the vacant bar stool next to me and I return his smile.

Victoria: James

It must be the drinks I've had today, but in a bold move I lean in and hug him. He smells as good as he looks. When I pull away from him, I think I can see that he's blushed a bit.

Bartender: Hey, what can I get you?

Bucky: A whiskey sour, please.

Is it a coincidence that we ordered the same drink? Actually i don't care. That only makes him more interesting. After his drink is in front of him, a kind of strange silence spreads between us. Maybe he really is shy? He didn't seem like that at all when I met him on Friday.

Victoria: Are you following me?

I try to break the silence with a joke. Also, somehow I don't want to make it so clear that I'm quite interested in him. So I try to seem as cool and uninterested as possible.

Bucky: No... I... um... I'm here with friends.

He turns and points to a table at the other end of the bar where two men are sitting. I recognize one as Captain America, but I don't know the other.

Victoria: Shouldn't you be with your friends then?

Bucky: Should I? But I like it much better here at the bar.

Ok, that statement was unexpected. I feel myself blushing and I hope it can't be seen in the dim light.

Victoria: Then, if you like it better here and you're clearly not a stalker, I'd appreciate your company.

We toast and both take a big sip. I'm starting to notice that I'm getting a little tipsy.

Bucky: What brings you here on a Monday night? Has Peter screwed up again?

Victoria: Peter? No, he's really trying to regain my trust.

I take another deep sip and whoops my drink is empty and a new one appears in front of me. I notice that James is eyeing it suspiciously, but says nothing.

Victoria: I just had a pretty annoying evening.

Bucky: Why does it sound to me like an annoying man is the main reason for the annoying evening?

Victoria: Because that's exactly how it is.

Bucky: Well, when it comes to failed dates, I'm the wrong person to talk to.

He looks kind of crushed at those words. Wait, does he think I was on a date that went wrong? I have to make that clear. While I don't want to make it too obvious that I like him, I don't want him to think I'm unavailable either.

Victoria: For God's sake, that wasn't a date. Just the thought of it is disgusting.

Bucky: Then what was it?

I need more alcohol to tell this. I empty my glass again and promptly get my next drink. I can't believe the bartender actually pulls this off.

Bucky: Woah, slow down. This isn't water.
