Chapter 22

"Mmm, Alec stop moving." I said snuggling in closer to him

"Mi Corazon, it's time to wake up. Magnus is already up, too." He said trying to untangle form me

"Mm. Only if you give me a kiss." I told him

I lean my head up as he kisses me.

"Much better." I told him as we got out of bed

"Morning, Kitty cat." I said

"Morning." Magnus told us

"I'd same the same, but looks like you haven't slept" Alec told him

"Should I be insulted by that?" Magnus asked

"No... I love that face. But this is like the fourth morning in a row that Stella and I've woken up to an empty bed. Is there something bothering you?" Alec asked

"Nothing is bothering me. I've even gotten used to your adorable little snores alongside Stella's gibberish talking." He told us

"Hey, I don't snore/talk." We said

"Look, I know you well enough to know something's going on." Alec told him

"Alexander, I'm fine." magnus said

No, you're not. I wanted to say but I know why he isn't.

"So, what about you? Have you decided what you're going to report to the Clave?" I asked

"I'm torn. If I don't tell the Clave about Luke's attempt on Valentine's life, I'm in violation. If the find out, I could be de-runed." He told us

"Whatever you decide, Magnus and I will stand by you. Always" I told him

"Are you sure you're okay?" Alec asked again

"Positive." Magnus told him walking away.

I waited until Alec left until I questioned Magnus.

"It's the memories, isn't it?" I asked him

"I keep seeing my mother's death. It won't go away."  He told me putting his head in his arms

"I know darling. Relieving those memories are difficult, especially ones in the very far past of ours. Do you wish for me to ease the pain?" I asked him

"Yes, please?" He asked

"Mal il de lui, ai malheur nuit cette san" I muttered over and over. I watched as Magnus slowly relaxed in my hands. He finally went to sleep. I went to bed carrying him. I played some calm music, made potions, kept an eye on Magnus.

Soon I heard a gasp behind me. I get up and go to Magnus.

"Darling, is it the same nightmare?" I asked him

"You know it's not a nightmare." He told me

I only nodded watching as he got out of bed, going straight for a drink. As he was making his drink, Alec came inside.

"We're transporting Valentine to Idris." Alec announced

"That's great. We can toast to Valentine's highly anticipated departure." Magnus said

"I love you. I love you both so much that I know something is wrong. Your not telling me something. Whatever it is, I'm here for y'all." He told us

I could only look down, knowing while Magnus is fighting his demons, I am too.

"I appreciate it. But I'm fine." Magnus said

"I'm good too." I told him

"No y'all aren't. I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna leave until y'all talk to me. Remember when Magnus told us, "when things get crazy, don't push me away"? Alec asked us

I looked at Magnus, before he started speaking

"When I was tortured in Valentine's body, that agony rune made me relive my worst memory. And now... I can't get it out of my head. Every time I close my eyes..." Magnus explained before sitting down

I followed, kneeling in front of him beside Alec as we grabbed his hands

"Hey...What is it?" Alec asked him

"Remember I told y'all how I found my mother dead by her own hand? My stepfather found me shortly after. He screamed at me. He called me an abomination." Magnus told is

"What?" Alec and I whispered

"He was right. He blamed me for her suicide. He said that she hated herself for giving birth to a monster. So, I lashed out. With all the magic I had. I burned him, Alexander, Stella. Right where he stood. I murdered my stepfather." He told us crying

"You were just a boy." Alec told him

"You weren't in control of your powers." I told him

"Yes, actually, I was. I never wanted y'all to see this... terrible ugly side of me, of my past..." He told us crying

I watched as Alec grabbed Magnus attention.

"Hey... There's nothing ugly about you." He told him straight in the eyes

I went next to him allowing my magic to send him all my love I had for him, while Alec hugged him to show the support and love he has for Magnus no matter what.

A few minutes later we went to the Institute to transfer valentine.

"Valentine Morgenstern by order of the Clave you are hereby remanded to the Gard in Idris." Alec told him

Isabelle looked at Magnus. I saw him open a portal. I gently took his hand in mine.

"I may be in a cell, but at least I'll be in Alicante...where the air doesn't reek of Downworlders." Valentine said looking at Magnus and I.

"Get him out of here." Alec ordered 

I saw as Jace, and Isabelle went through with the other guards.

I just stood there watching as the portal closed.

"Shall we go home now?" I asked

"Let's my cherry pop." Magnus told me

"Sure, mi Corazon." Alec said
