Chapter Forty

"She's nice naman siguro, right?" Mage nudged me. "Alam mo.. Vale's been very busy lately pero he still has time for us. So I'm guessing she's nice."

Lumingon ako kay Vale na nag-totono ng gitara. It's been a while since we all hung out, since we're all so busy, so Vale got his guitar para naman makapag-jamming kaming lahat dito samay bonfire ng bahay nila.

"Who seems nice?"

"The girl Vale's talking to," Mage said.

"What?" My jaw dropped. "Vale, do you have a girlfriend na?! Tapos you're not telling us?!"

"Nasaan na daw si Selena?" Raffy asked.

"Raffy, you knew about this?!" I gasped. "Oh, the betrayal."

"Crazy. I don't have a girlfriend. Pinagsasabi mo?" Tumawa si Vale. "Si Selena, nawala na ba 'yun?"

"Bakit niyo ba ako lagi hinahanap? Ugh onting pakipotness naman, Vance Lawrence." Selena closed the door that led to the inside of Vale's house. "Bakit ba kayo nandito sa labas? Ang lamig lamig kaya!"

"Kaya nga may apoy!" Raffy chuckled. "Here! Some hot cocoa."

"Ano naman pinagkaka-abalahan niyo?" Selena asked me and Magui. "Kayong dalawa yung hindi medtech, ah! Etong si Raffy at Vance araw araw kong nakikita! Tapos 'tong si Urfueza pa, hindi nakiki-lunch!"

"Hey, I eat lunch with you guys when it's sakto sa sched!" Mage pouted. "Which is only Wednesdays and sometimes Fridays. But whatever."

"Wait, you don't eat lunch with them most of the time?" tanong ko. "Edi who do you eat with?"

"Ha?" Nanlaki agad ang mga mata niya. "Hindi, ano. Wala. Ano.."

"Huh?" Kunot noo kong tanong.

"Wala.. minsan." She nervously laughed. "Vale, what about you? Your family's so prepared na for Christmas, oh. Ang dami niyong Christmas decors all over your house."

Everyone else looked at her with a puzzled look. Even Vale suddenly stopped tuning his guitar and looked at Mage.

"What?" She let out a shaky chuckle. "You guys are weird."

"Whoever the boy you're talking to is.. he's probably tall, ano?" I laughed. "And quiet."

"INTJ siguro." Tumawa si Selena, kaya napatawa rin si Raffy at nakipag-apir sa kaniya.

"Mage likes quiet guys talaga ano? To balance out her conyoness." I smiled. "Sino ba, Mags?"

"Wala." Umiling siya. "Ang assuming niyo ha. Why would I get into a relationship? How you seen me? I'm too pretty to be dating just one guy."

Vale supressed a smile. "Typical Magui."

"Oh whatever, Vale." Mage kickee Vale in the shin, making him flinch.

"Ow!" Reklamo ni Vale. "Alam mo, kawawa talaga magiging boyfriend mo. Mukha ka lang mahiyain pero mas malala ka pa manakit sa kanilang tatlo combined."
