| appearance |
| Max is a tall, muscular young man with sun-tanned skin & a broad, intimidating build. reaching across his body from his right eye to his right hip is a 3rd-degree burn scar, alongside smaller scars all over his arms and face from various points in his life. when he closes his mouth, his upper fangs jut out. his element's marking is inscribed on his back, between his shoulder blades, and appears to be branded.
his hair, a deep orange-red with black bits, is roughly mid-back, fluffy, and often tied back into a low ponytail with some bits of loose hair in his eyes. he has some black beard stubble on the unscarred parts of his jaw. his eyes are a bright, almost white gold, with his right eye completely glazed over.
he typically wears a v-necked black shirt with large pieces of iron armor on his shoulders, hips, and legs, with heavily armored boots & baggy pants. also armored arm gauntlets because they're pretty neat, and a bunch of belts, bags, and equipment on his hips.
when in public, Max wears a full-face tiger mask semi-resembling a kitsune mask. |

[ in which Max sets his weapon ablaze, activating the dozens of sigils running along the spine of the hammer, and summoning a sigil beneath his feet. unfortunately, his weapon is a little too powerful for him to handle at full activation. the earth cracks and splits beneath his feet, flame erupting, forming to create a shield around him & surrounding party members. ]
[ upon shield activation, he swings his hammer, summoning a flaming construct of a tiger. the construct is thrown into the middle of battle, where it promptly explodes into a dozen fire sigils, disorienting any and all nearby enemies. ]
