The walk to Kiara's house was awkward, to say the least. Occasionally, the girls would spare a glance back at JJ only to find he was already watching them.

The prickling heat of the sun did nothing to ease their growing irritation with each other and Bianca found, that the further they traveled, the more uneasy she got. The same could be said about Kiara who had been dreading stealing her father's truck.

JJ, however, seemed to be enjoying himself a little too much.

By the time they arrived on the richer side of the island, where the houses doubled in stories and the gardens grew more extravagant behind each white picket fence, JJ somehow convinced himself he was starring in a James Bond movie.

Bianca rolled her eyes when the boy ducked behind the Carrera's truck parked outside their front yard. He checked inside the vehicle, holding up finger guns before whispering, "He's not in there. We're good."

The girls shared a look before trailing after him and hiding behind the wooden fence. Kiara peered over for any sign of her parents.

Bianca frowned, "Are you sure you wanna do this, Kie?"

"Yeah," JJ chimed in, squinting past the setting sunlight. "A little Dad Theft Auto?"

Bianca hated the way her instant reaction was to laugh, even in the most dire situations. Somehow, someway, JJ always knew how to make everything more light-hearted. It had only been a few hours but god, she missed him. She missed him a lot.

"No," Kiara gave a loud sigh before crouching down to open the gate.

"Alright, here we go," JJ's fingers fiddled with the lock until it creaked open and Kiara slipped through. "Go, go, go."

The moment the fence clicked shut behind her, a heavy silence rang through the air. Bianca glanced away, not having anticipated what would happen while she and JJ waited for Kiara.

The blond boy seemed to pick up on the same predicament and cleared his throat, "So, are we going to talk about it...?" He trailed off unsurely, wanting to test the waters between them.

"What's there to talk about?" Bianca shrugged nonchalantly. "You don't see a future together and I don't know what else I can say to change your mind."

That was the part of their fight that hurt Bianca the most. Not the boyfriend and girlfriend labels, not her being too much for him, not the getting married and having babies ordeal. But the fact that even after everything they'd been through, JJ still thought that they wouldn't last.

JJ sighed softly, bowing his head so his hair shielded his eyes from her, "Come on, B, you know it's not like that."

"So, then what's it like?" She narrowed her eyes.
