"Captain?" I heard a voice. "Captain, can you hear me?"
I gasped loudly, arching my back while shaking.
"Woah Woah! Hey! It's okay!" The voice yelled out.I was in MedBay, lying on a bed. I turned to my left to see Dr. Russo trying to calm me down. Everything was normal again, I looked down at my hand to see that the crystal wasn't attached to my hand anymore.
"Had a bad nightmare, huh?" She asked.
Was it a nightmare? I looked at my arm that was shot, it still had a bandage around it. Was it all just in my mind or did it actually happen?
And if it did, how am I back?"Hey, don't have to work today, you can rest while you can heal."
I shook my head.
"No, I- I'm fine."Linda giggled sightly in disbelief.
"CC and Mark told us that you were dazed and scared. And then you had a nosebleed and passed out."I perked up. "Mark?" I mumbled.
Shortly after, the door to the medbay slid open. I jumped in excitement seeing Mark standing there.
"There they are!" He laughed.I jumped out of the bed and ran over to him.
He froze once I wrapped my arms around him, holding him tightly.
"Woah, hey there." Mark giggled.I suddenly felt embarrassed once I pushed him away. "Sorry I'm just...happy to see your okay."
I remembered where I was, back in the ship, shortly after I passed out and before the first wormhole opened on the ship. The only difference I noticed was Mark. He had a bandage wrapped around his head, with a blood spot seeping through.
I didn't understand how he would have hurt his head."You feeling okay?" He asked.
"I'm better now." I admitted."Well, when you're ready, I do want to talk to you in the bridge." He said.
Shortly after he left, I turned around to thank Linda. Then I followed Mark to the bridge. Once I looked out the window, I noticed our ship had landed on our colonized planet. Different from before.
I stood in front of the monitors, experiencing a strange feeling of Deja vu.
"You alright, Captain?" Mark asked."Yeah, I just felt like I've been here before."
I sighed.
"We all have." He mumbled."Anyway, what did you want to talk about?"
He went quiet and grinned for a moment, like he was thinking about something mischievous.
"I just wanted to thank you, for all of this."I smiled at what he said. When a thought popped in my mind. "Mark?" I asked. "Is the...warp core still active?"
He perked right up. "Yep, without it we wouldn't be here."
I felt sick to my stomach again. No! Come on! Why?
Suddenly I heard Mark giggling quietly once he saw my reaction. I felt like I was going to vomit until Mark said, "I'm kidding.""What?" I mumbled.
"I'm just fucking with you, the warp core destroyed. You did it."
He remembered everything. It wasn't a dream after all.
"Oh my god, I fucking hate you!" I playfully smacked him away, as he laughed.
"I thought I was going insane." I admitted. "So all of that really happened? The crystal? The explosion?""Yep." Mark said. "Everything went back to normal after the warp core disappeared. When I woke up I saw you lying next to me injured so I brought you to medbay."
The crew was back to normal, everything ran normally. No more time jumps, no more wormholes.
"What happened to Peebles?" I asked him.He grinned more as he stared behind me. I heard someone walking behind me. I quickly turned around and my jaw dropped.
Peebles began walking behind me, but she looked completely different. Dressed like she was part of the colonists, navy blue suit, her hair tied into braids, with a pin code of her own attached to the side of her suit.
