"Dear god you have no idea how much I want to smoke a fucking cigarette right now"

"You've never smoked a day in your life"

"Yeah well, I'm thinking of starting" Macy groaned dramatically. She was on facetime with Junie and Nelle and she felt like absolute shit. She was two days into her vacation and she already wanted to book the first flight home. Somehow she had romanticized the idea of spending time with her parents again until she remembered who her parents were. She'd pretty much blocked out her late teen years where her house was practically a battlefield. As a teenager, she felt like her parents were constantly berating her about every single thing she did. Always forcing her to push herself harder and harder on everything she did. Most of the time it felt like nothing was good enough. No matter what, they always had to give out their opinions on aspects of her life. That was one of the main reasons she opted out of bringing Gracie around. Speaking of her, there was something weird going on between the two of them.

When the two of them woke up this morning she wouldn't even talk to her and when she did she was oddly dejected. She tried asking her what was going on but she just kept brushing her off. So subsequently Macy began to get upset with her as well and soon enough they hadn't spoken to each other unless absolutely necessary for most of the day. Macy was desperately trying to push aside her own feelings to understand what was going on with her girlfriend but she simply wouldn't open up to her. The crazy thing is that it was totally out of the blue. As far as she remembered nothing happened and she just couldn't understand what was going on.

"Mace, what's going on with you?"

"Nothing" She dismissed.

"Bullshit, we've been on facetime for an hour and you're being weirdly cryptic and all pitiful and shit" Nelle inserted.

"Just talk to us"

Macy exhaled loudly and began. "I don't know things are just not going well so far"

"Okay, why do you say that?" Junie counted.

"Well first of all, this morning I just woke up and Gracie wouldn't even talk to me. It's like we didn't get into a fight or anything but she's barely talked to me all day and every time I say something she's like super dry. Then on top of that, I'm at my parents house right now and they keep making all these judgements about my job and they keep trying to set me up with this guy next door and they're just being themselves I guess"

"Gracie's probably having a bad day or something, but I'm sure everything is fine"

"I guess but it's just so weird, she never just doesn't talk to me. I just-I just feel like the energy is just off between us"

"When you see her next you should just sit her down and try to talk to her, just explain how you feel"

"Yeah, and about your parents just ignore them. You're an adult now, their judgements are irrelevant. And about the guy next door just tell him you're not interested and i'm sure he'll understand"

"Thanks, those are good ideas"

"You're welcome" Nelle smiled. "Now tell me... how hot is your neighbor?" she added. Sending all three of them into a fit of laughter.
