"There's things I wanna say to you"
TW: abuse, slight smut again bc Valentina copes uh differently and carl is well..carl lol

VALENTINA LEFT CARL too soon, her mind a jumbled mess as she got into Vincent's truck after saying byes to everyone. She felt the weight of all the things left unsaid in her bones. A weight that she knew could only be taken off if she cast aside her fears. Something nearly impossible for her along with to let someone in.

It all left her fighting with her thoughts the whole drive home, giving her brother her full attention as he talked.

Vincent told her Fiona has a boyfriend, some older dude she works with, that Fiona introduced him to.

She wasn't sure what to tell him when she noticed his frown, one she knew and told her was he was probably losing his own battle with his thoughts.

He still loved Fiona. An easy thing to spot just by the way he looked at her. Valentina thinks he never really stopped loving Fiona.

"is that who was cooking with Kevin and who was arguing with Frank?" She asks, remembering an older man arguing with Frank, when she was feeding Liam, about beer or something.

"Yeah"

Valentina attempts to cheer her brother up by scoffing and adding, "ese Viejo es una mierda comparado a ti, Vicente. Don't worry about it" (that old man is shit compared to you, Vincent)

He chuckles, ruffling her hair as thanks with his free hand.

"ey! leave my hair!" She whines shoving his hand away, fixing her hair and out of her face.

They'd arrive home, both siblings happy enough with their day.

Castros and their bad luck made it a rare thing.

"Leave those in the fridge," Vincent tells his sister with a yawn nodding to the plastic containers in her hands. Fiona had given them the leftover chicken and mac & cheese.

When he opens the door, the siblings almost instantly regret coming home. Eliza and three other random people sat in their living room drinking laughing, and shouting like they owned the place. Beer and other liquor bottles were scattered around, the couch pushed up by the stairs was covered in brown liquor stains.

"what the fuck, Eliza!?" Vincent shouts in horror at the mess in his house.

Eliza turns to her children with a drunken smile at the sight of them
