4 - Troubling Foul

The next morning

Alessia's POV

I woke up to a very nice smell of fresh cherries and the sound of an alarm going off which I turned off, I went to rub my eyes but noticed at a glance that I wasn't in my own room and that I was in Lexie's bed with her sound asleep against my chest seeming very comfortable and pretty happy.

I then suddenly remembered that we had a match today against Spain and that we were both starting on the bench, so we need to be up and prepared for the long day ahead, so I gently shook her trying not to startle her at all 'Lex wake up it's time to get up' I said in a gentle quiet tone she stirred sitting up smiling after having noticed me there 'thanks Alessia let's get going' she said in a slight but pretty cute morning voice.

We headed down to the kitchen where Leah was waiting for us both as we were the last two to leave the rooms, she made breakfast for us and had a big smirk on her face, 'so who wants to explain why I saw someone sneak into someone's room and not leave it until right now' Leah said trying to refrain herself from bursting into laughter, Lexie gave me a sort of confused look as to why she had woken up to me in her bed I took a slow deep breath 'well Lexie you got pretty drunk and I walked you back to your room and you asked me to stay so I decided to just in case you needed anything or threw up during the night' Leah smiled and smirked at me I glared at her intensely cause she could see the red showing on my face I guess.

Lexie didn't notice I guess because she smiled at me and 'thanks Lessi I mean it' she said, I gace her a smile and nod as she headed out of the room leaving myself and Leah standing alone in the kitchen being the last two in the building Leah's smirk grew, 'Leah cut the smirk already' I said to her knowing she knew my secret 'oh come on I can see it clear as day Lessi' she said walking over to me after setting three water bottles down, she put a hand on my shoulder to ease me a bit more 'fine maybe I like her' I said trying to avoid it 'Lessi' Leah said folding her arms looking at me 'fine I like her but she'll never feel the same' I said looking down sad, Leah lifted my head up 'Hey just talk to her i'm sure it'll be fine' she said with a smile.

We then grabbed the bottles and made our way to the locker room on the other side of the city for the match and briefing we quickly established who was going to start and who was going to be on the bench for today Leah looked my way and gave me a nod, I nodded back and took my moment I wanted to do it now 'Hey Lexie can we talk' I said nervously she smiled 'of course we can Lessi' she said we waited for everyone to leave 'ok this will be quick I promise' I said she nodded 'take ya time you can talk to me about anything' she said I took a deep breath 'I uhm, I like you! More than a friend! I'm sorry! you don't feel the same I understand Lex!' I rambled 'she laughed 'Hey I like you too silly' she said as she kissed me on the lips quick, I blushed bright red 'will you be my girlfriend Lexie Owens' she smiled 'yes I shall Alessia Russo, we also better go we have a match'. The match

The game got under way, and I was on the field up front, we were up against Spain the team which I use to play for before I transferred completely to England let's just say some of the girls weren't too pleased with my choice to leave them for the country I was born in neither was my biological mother who is Spanish but I didn't care cause I had always been a fathers daughter, but we got to the 13 minute mark and Beth passed the ball my direct and I crossed it into the top left of the net, the crowd went completely wild as Beth and Alessia ran over to me and celebrated as the goal got announced.

The game continued to progress with England scoring 2 more times in the first half the second England goal being scored by Beth and the third being scored by Alessia but Spain managed to also score two goals and it wasn't a surprise to me as I knew their plays.

But little did I know that they had something up their sleeve for me during the second half, the half time whistle blew with the score being 3 - 2 to England and we discussed who would come off and who would stay on and then for back out there and the second half kicked off Spain scored another goal 5 minutes into the second half making it 3 - 3 but I soon put another one in the net at the 68th minute mark we then managed again to get the ball back down the Spanish end of the pitch and it got passed to me I made a straight bolt for the goal but I got extremely fouled by a Spain player who tackled me purposely going for my leg in that moment I fell to the ground rolling on my back clutching my lower leg in excruciatingly bad pain, Alessia run straight to me 'Lexie don't move it's ok' a ref and they called the medical team and Russo came with me, but the game ended 5-3 to England but at what cost.
