House of the Dragon: Girl with the hair of Fire

Chapter 2

Viserys sits in his study looking at his wooden dragon. Something was lingering in his mind. However he didn't speak what he was thinking just keeping his eyes fixated on that wooden dragon.
He hadn't even noticed the Presence of Otto Hightower behind him at this point.

"What's on your mind your grace" Otto speaks as Viserys glances over his shoulder slightly taken aback at the sudden voice of his hand.
"The usual political alliances. Aegon and Helaena are Bethrothed now but I cannot seem to find a match for Aemond." Viserys says
"It's something I should be discussing with the council" he begins
Otto nods in agreement placing himself down beside his king.

"There is no one you have in mind for him?" Otto asks
"No. No more Targaryens I can think of so I've been thinking of another house. A daughter of one of the powerful families we can marry Aemond to." Viserys says
"What about Princess Emerys father. Daemon's daughter?" Rhaenerya asks suddenly stepping into the sunlight.

In the annoyance of Otto.
"Emerys is apparently a bastard." Viserys says
"Because of her red hair?" Rhaenerya asks remembering hearing the stories of Rhea apparently being unfaithful and birthing a child with hair of fire.
"Yes but also they two never got along and daemon always believed that Rhea was in love with another." Viserys says
"You forget Rhea also had red hair." Rhaeneryas says
"And my sons aren't born with silver hair" Rhaenerya says
"And there is also question of there parentage as well" Otto cuts in with a death stare to Rhaenerya.

"I must admit I forgot about Princess Emerys. She is of perfect age to Aemond but there is still no way of knowing that she is truly Targaryen." Viserys says
"Bring her to kings landing. Just for the summer and see if she can mount a dragon and if she cannot then you will know." Rhaenerya says

"Why do you want to help your brother in the first place?" Otto asks
"Because he's my brother. When I'm queen I want my bloodline to be strong full of future dragon riders" Rhaenerya says as Otto almost snarls
"My king I cannot agree with Rhaenerya on this one Emerys could very well be illegitimate" Otto says

Otto knew his grandson needed a wife and what better would he be to have a Targaryen for his grandson to marry. Strengthening their line. But this girl would be the daughter of Daemon. A man he hated. What if she was impulsive like him and harder to control.

"Yet Rhaenerya has already given us a solution and I agree it's worth a try to see if she could be Targaryen. I think we should send her to kings landing and If she successfully mounts a dragon then we will betroth them" Viserys announces

Before he knew it the letter was being written to be sent to Rhea Royce herself. The message attached to the raven and out the window where the bird would flap in the direction of the vale.
