Surprisingly I was able to sleep that night. I guess the emotional roller coaster really wore me out. Good thing too, as I had to be up early to go back to the hotel.
I left Jeremy still snoring softly as I got dressed and headed out the door.
It was 6am, I had told Jen I would be there at 8 to help her start getting ready, but I had a pit stop I had to make first. When I got to the hotel, I made my way to Mac's room and knocked on the door.
"What the fuck?" I heard Mac grumble as he opened the door.
"Amelia do you realize what time it is?" He groaned.
"Yep," I said. "But I need to talk to your brother."
"Ugh," he whined before grabbing his phone and his pillow. "If anyone asks I went to Zac's room."
I nodded as he sauntered off down the hall. I slipped into the room before the door closed.
Taylor was sprawled out on his stomach on the secondary bed, still in the clothes from the previous night. I understood why Mac was upset about being woken up, Taylor's snores must have made it hard for him to fall asleep.
"Taylor!" I shouted. "Get up!"
He moaned a little but didn't budge. I grabbed his arm and tried pulling him awake.
"GET UP!" I yelled louder.
"Leave me alone," he muttered, rolling to his side.
"No! Get the fuck up," I demanded, still yanking on his arm.
He suddenly loosened his arm from my grasp and gripped mine in his hand. He yanked me onto the bed and into his arms.
"Mmm," he murmured, burying his face in my neck. "Just lie here with me for a little bit okay?"
I was half tempted to do just that as I felt his lips grazing my neck, his hand massaging my thigh.
"I love you," he continued still in his dream-like state. His other hand was in my hair cupping my face as his lips were making their way towards mine. "I know you think it's her, but I swear it's not. I love you, Krys."
"I am not Krys," I yelled, trying to pull myself away from him. His eyes shot open as he suddenly woke up. He quickly released me and jumped up.
"Amelia what the fuck are you doing here?" he asked.
"I needed to have a word with you," I told him, folding my arms across my chest. Although after hearing that confession in his sleep, I couldn't really remember why I was bothering. "But clearly I've made a mistake."
I stood to leave.
"No," he said, grabbing my arm and forcing me to sit back down. "You don't get to wake me up and then not tell me what you want."
"You married her," I said after a minute.
"So I did," he said. "What does it matter to you?"
"Do you even remember what she did last night?"
"So we got a little drunk," he shrugged, then looked around the room. "Where is she anyway? I can't believe she would let you in."
"This isn't your room," I said, having my question about his memory answered. "This is Mac's room. He let me in before going to Zac's. Krystal was thrown out of the hotel last night."
"Why?" He asked, clearly confused. He made his way to the coffee pot and frowned at the small coffee package before tossing it in the pot and brewing it anyway.
I told him what had happened the night before and when I got to the part about Krystal throwing my past in my face he interrupted me.
"She wouldn't say that," he said, shaking his head.
"Well she did," I said. "Ask everyone who was there. I'm sure it'll be all the talk today, despite the fact that Jen and Zac are getting married."
"Well even if she did," he said. "I told her to stop so what's the big deal?"
"No you didn't," I argued.
He poured himself a cup of coffee and held out the pot to ask if I wanted some.
I declined before I finished telling him what happened.
"I didn't say anything?" He asked, shaking his head in disbelief. "I wouldn't let her or anyone talk to you that way. I just couldn't do that!"
"Well you did," I said. "Granted you were incredibly shitfaced -"
"That explains why I feel like complete shit," he stated cutting me off.
"Jen and Zac uninvited her to the wedding," i finished. "Jen would've beat the shit out of her if Zac hadn't stopped her."
"I - I don't know what to say," he stammered. "I am so sorry. I should've never gotten that drunk, I just - I was nervous about seeing you and Krystal had suggested we go to Vegas before the wedding. And we ended up married and that made me more nervous about seeing you."
"Why?" I asked. "You love her so why would that make you nervous?"
"You know why," he said coming over to me. He sat next to me and took my hands in his. "I love you Amelia. I always have and I always will."
"I heard you," I said. "When you thought I was Krystal, you said that you loved her and you knew she thought it was me but it was her you loved."
"I always have to tell her that," he said. "I do love her, but not the way I love you. I have to reassure her every day that it's her not you, but that doesn't make it true."
I looked into his eyes, which were puffy and bloodshot, and I could tell he wasn't lying.
"I suppose Jeremy wants to kill me now?" He joked after a minute.
I shrugged, "It's possible. We didn't discuss it."
"I'd want to kill me if I were him," he said. "God, I must've looked like such an asshole."
"Yeah," I agreed. "You did."
"Thanks," he scoffed. "I am so sorry."
"You really owe Jen and Zac and apology," I retorted. "It was their rehearsal dinner that got ruined."
"I'll work it out with them," he said. "But I want to make sure you don't hate me first."
"I could never hate you," I said. "But it hurt, it still hurts."
"I know I shouldn't have allowed her to say those -" he started.
"No," I stopped him. "It doesn't matter what she said. You married her Tay. You're married, to someone who's not me."
"You always told me to marry someone else," he said.
"I know," I said, burying my face in my hands. "Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt."
"But what about Jeremy?" he asked. "Don't you love him?"
"I guess I do," I said. "But I guess I always thought..."
"You always thought what?" He asked.
"I always thought that you and I would find a way back to each other," I said softly. "No matter how much I pushed for us to move on, I always figured we'd end up back together. Now there's no chance -"
He didn't let me finish, he quickly pulled me onto his lap and covered my mouth in a hard kiss.
I tried pulling away, "We shouldn't -"
"Shhh," he said his mouth meeting mine again until I could no longer resist. The yearning was just too strong. I tore his shirt open. Ripped buttons scattered across the room before he pulled my top off and flung it to the floor. Without parting our lips, he lifted me up and placed me underneath him on the bed. I fumbled with his belt buckle as his lips found their way to my neck again.
