Finally, it was just Calum and Leia.
They were snuggled in Leia's bed, her head on his outstretched arm, his hands playing with his hair, her hands on his chest, tracing the patterns of the tattoos he had there. The Renaissance Period played softly in the background.
"I love this song," Calum said, nodding to the beat with his eyes closed. He sang the lyrics under his breath. "And when I look at you/ I see stars in your eyes/ And when you kiss me/ I taste the sweetest butterflies."
Leia smiled, singing along. "You're the brightest place on earth/ The sun doesn't compare to you/ You are all the colors at once/ And you make me love you."
(a/n: yes i made up these lyrics lol still not a real band)
Calum's eyes flew open with a grin, and he placed a kiss on her forehead. They were alone in the house now. Mrs. Wilson had gone down to the police station to file an official lawsuit against Leia's father and left them alone, winking at Leia and Calum when she left (which was odd and sort of disturbing).
"Does your cheek still hurt?" she whispered, fingers lightly skirting around the bandage she had put there. She was worried he was still in pain but he insisted he was fine. Her fingers hovered above Calum's busted lower lip, her heart sinking. "Your lip..."
"It's fine, angel. Stop worrying," he cooed, slightly amused.
"You look like a bad-ass," she mumbled wistfully, suddenly playing with the hem of his shirt. "It's really hot."
"Well, if that's the case," he said, rolling over so he hovered above Leia. He wiggles his eyebrows suggestively, which made her laugh. He dipped down and kissed her, tongue skirting her lips and meeting her own, making her moan against his mouth. Her hands found their way to his hair, tugging and pulling in a way that drove Calum wild. He was already moving to take off his shirt when Leia stopped him, planting her hands on his chest.
"What?" he mumbled, dazed.
A sweet, innocent smile played on her lips, making him groan. He was already thinking of indecent things. "Nothing, just that..." She pressed a kiss on his nose. "I love you."
He blushed furiously. He didn't know why, but the way she kissed his nose made butterflies erupt violently in his stomach. For some reason it felt like a really intimate gesture. He was suddenly stuttering. "A-and I love y-you."
They've said it back and forth more than a few times now, but it was still an exhilarating feeling for both of them. It was like they couldn't get enough of hearing it from one another. It was such a beautiful thing. Calum was about to kiss her again and move on to more intimate things when Leia's phone rang, cutting off the song that was playing. She immediately grabbed it and mouthed sorry to Calum before placing it against her ear. "Hello?" Her eyes widened. "Anna. Did you hear about—" She nodded. "Yeah. He's gone now." She lowered her eyes as her sister talked on the other end.
Slightly disappointed at the interruption of their teenage make-out session, Calum rolled to Leia's side and propped his head up with his elbow, watching her. He couldn't help but admire her features. This is my girlfriend, he thought to himself. After all these months, she was his girlfriend. Completely, freely his. And finally, there was nothing that could go wrong between them.
He was lost in thought and didn't even realize Leia was talking to him. "Cal, Anna wants to talk to you," she said, placing her phone on Calum's ear.
