3:17am, monday

"you're gonna kill the both of us!" i exclaim.

"yeah yeah." Eddie replied, laughing while licking his ice cream cone.

silence..

"so." he paused. "what the hell do you and Hargrove even talk about?" he questions.

"Eddie!" i say in a pitchy tone, annoyed.

"hey, i'm just asking." he replies.

"i don't know.. everything." i say, looking at him.

"like?" he pushes.

"i mean, anything!" i say, at a loss.

"he just doesn't seem like your kind of guy. i've seen him at school, he's kinda a dick." he chuckles.

i look at him, unable to argue.

"yeah. i guess so.." i say, turning to look out of the window.

"you deserve better, Jade." he says. i look at him, and give a weak smile before looking away. he's still staring.

when i wake up, i'm unsure of where we are.
i look over at the driver seat, only to see Eddie, tapping the steering wheel whilst listening to Metallica.

he sees me staring. "mornin' princess." he says mockingly, with a smirk plastered on his face.

"where the hell are we?" i say, ignoring his comment.

"Georgia." he says. before i can ask why, he chimes in. "family friend owns a bar. and since you didn't specify-"

i cut him off. "that's perfect."

we listen to the radio for a few minutes, before my pager starts beeping. it's billy.
