For T'Dal, Pavel's home in San Francisco was exactly what he had expected since he had seen it in his memories; however she was surprised by the scent of cleanliness, as well as a mix of mint and lemon which she welcomed and which she found to be pleasant. The environment was tidy and a part of herself felt uncomfortable, it was as if she felt like a guest in that house. Pavel had proposed to buy another one for the two of them, but the Vulcan refused, it was illogical, since Pavel had chosen a big house precisely because of that moment.

«Love, what are you thinking about?» Pavel asked looking at T'Dal, who approached a cabinet in the living room and took in her hands a photograph that she noticed among the others.

It was a picture of them together, it had been taken on the day of the graduation at the Federation Academy Academy.

«This house reflects you, but I didn't expect my photograph in plain sight.» she admitted

«You are my family and I love having lots of photos. Do you want to see the rest of the house?» he said smiling at her, and then looked at her.

«Of course, thanks.» she said looking at him.

If the evening passed quietly, Pavel contacted his parents in Russia but they said that they did not feel able to endure a long journey to Vulcan; the next day shortly after breakfast, Peter Kirk arrived at the Chekov home.

«Good morning, dear cousin.» Peter said making the Vulcan salute and T'Dal returned the greeting.

«Cousin, welcome.»

«So this is your house.»

"Technically this is Pavel's house.»

«T'Dal I would like to remind you that following the logic, it will soon be yours and it will no longer be his, don't you think? Could you think about settling in here?» Peter asked looking at her.

«Okay, but until the wedding is finalized I don't think I'll be able to feel at home. I think I could settle in, although I'm used to a more minimalist decor. The admiral has informed me that you are my new doctor and will accompany me to Vulcan. I have reason to believe that Dr. McCoy is indisposed. Are you aware of his health conditions?»T'Dal said waving him towards a sofa, changing the subject.

Peter smiled at her, he loved the Vulcans and their ways of politely misleading the subject, but that way of doing it reminded him more of Uncle Jim, because it had been a more direct way of changing the subject in question. Somehow James Tiberius Kirk had managed to dent T'Dal's Vulcan impassiveness and Peter had more sympathy for the latter than he already felt.

«Correct. You must know that Commander McCoy has always had your health at heart, but I believe you know that. You must know that it was well written on your file, if he wasn't available, I had to intervene. In this regard, Commander McCoy had asked Dr. M'Benga and me to share with him everything we know about a Vulcan-human interspecies pregnancy. He showed us your medical records and I can tell you that you are in perfect health. Commander McCoy, however, is sedated with tranquilizers. What happened on the Enterprise proved him very much.»

«I had no idea. I believe your visit is useful, as I would need additional information. I only know my father's medical history...» T'Dal admitted looking at him, deciding not to continue the sentence, but the boy understood where he wanted to go.

«Of course, that's why I'm here.» Peter answered with a half smile.

Feeling a slight discomfort in T'Dal thanks to the bond, Pavel appeared at the door of the sitting room.

«I want to officially introduce you to my husband.» she said, looking sideways at Pavel.

«Doctor Kirk, it's a pleasure to meet you.» Pavel said, extending his hand in the direction of the doctor, which he shook.
