𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗬 (𝗦𝗢 𝗙𝗔𝗥). aarya hastings was born in darjeeling, west bengal, in eastern india. she was born to an american father and bengali mother, who met when her father was traveling through bengali the summer after he graduated medical school. she was raised with her two sisters there until she was six years old. they then decided to move to american, to be closer to her fathers family. from the age of ten, ari's family life got tense. when the illusion was shattered by the revelation that her father had not been as happy in his own so-called "perfect" life, and had in fact been having a longtime affair with another woman. not just an affair, but a whole second family. aarya, her two sisters, and her mother found out about his other life when mr. hastings came home one day with two more brothers for her and her sisters.
her parents ended up staying together despite her and her sister's anguish. although very quickly she accepted her new little brothers into the family. they even have a family tradition of traveling as a family every year despite where they are in the world. family is very important. since birth, aarya has been a force to be reckoned with, a curious girl. one of her biggest sources of joy is fashion. at a young age she was always making cute outfits out of the clothes she had, as well as giving fashion advice to her mother and sisters. she doesn't follow trends, she creates them.
when she was 15, her mother bought her, her first sewing machine. along with a bunch of fabric, from that day on aarya began creating clothes of her own. at 18, she applied to fashion institute of technology (fit), she got accepted and moved to new york, where she currently lives. that's where she discovered broadway. she regularly goes with her friends to see shows. she's currently a fashion influencer as well as working up to being an assistant designer for a big fashion brand. she has a good mentor and is surrounded by a sense of high fashion with a great respect for the fashion icons that came before.
