With each passing moment, my heart aches
For your warm embrace, your comforting words to take
Away the pain, the sadness, and the fear
To bring you back, to hold you near
But I know deep down, you'll never return
In this reality, it's hard to learn
But in my heart, you'll always stay
A shining light, to guide my way
So, I'll hold onto the memories we shared
And keep you close in my heart
For you'll forever be my guiding star
My dear dad, you'll never be too far
In slumber's hold, a wish I make
For this nightmare to swiftly break
To wake up and find it all a lie,
And this dark dream forever dies
