My heart is heavy, full of pain

My words take flight
I send them out in the rain
No reply in sight
Pondering
Why love's not found?
Questioning
What did I do wrong?

She didn't answer my call
Left me waiting in the mall
I had plans so grand
But she didn't take my hand
The maestro played his tune
But all alone, I felt like a buffoon
I brought her favorite flowers
But she didn't show up for hours
In Paris, my heart was shattered
Left waiting, love didn't matter

New day, new light, I desired some tea
But on the empty roads, I could see
My heart was in pieces, feeling torn
A lonely soul, all forlorn

For there she stood before my eyes
The one I loved with all my soul
But now she smiled and laughed with lies
With another, she had grown whole

Though tears did fall like autumn rain
And my heart felt despair
I couldn't help but smile again
For her beauty was always fair

For though she now belonged to another
My love for her would never last
For her smile and her laughter like no other
Were the memories that forever would last

She stared at my face
And I, with tea in hand
Departed from that place
She chased after me
Her tears, a river flow
Apologies and beggings
Echoed in my ears, though

I pretended deafness
But inside, my heart ached
A silent smile on my face
As I am away, the steps I take

Left her in sadness, sailed away
Proudly traveled to lands faraway
A stranger's visage, her name unsaid
Memories faded, lost and dead

A new me, blessed, born afresh
Married to an amazing bride
Two sons, shining bright
My life, now a beautiful sight
All of this, thanks to my love
My everything, sent from above
