Baba Moujib, sahbi, le champion, my hero
This one is for you
I miss you
Will I ever see you again?
Will I ever see your smile again?
Hear your laugh
Feel your love
Can I call you?
I miss the sound of your voice
Can I be with you?
I miss being around you
I miss the wisdom in your advice
The stories of your life and just being in your presence

You taught me to be brave of heart
But now I find, I've fallen apart
For I cannot bear the thought of you gone
My heart aches, and my tears fall like a dawn
I miss you so, baba moujib
Please return to me, make me glad
Wake from your slumber, free me from this fear
Come back to me, my father dear

My heart yearns for your embrace
The thought of our outings together fills me with grace
Let us sip on steaming cups of coffee once more
Splash in the water, as we did before
Let us wander the world, hand in hand
Creating memories that forever will stand
You have left me with a treasure trove of love
That I will cherish, forever and above

In that fateful hour, when fate did part
And took my father, dear, from my heart
A feeling of defeat did then ensure
For all my efforts, all my will, came to naught
I tried with all my might, to save his life
But on that darkest night, I couldn't make it right
And now my mind, with guilt and grief does reel
For not being able to make my father's stay real

Baba Moujib, my heart aches with longing
For your presence, your touch, your guiding hand
How I yearn for you to wake up from your nap
And walk by my side once more in this land

In my dreams, I see you hold my child
With love and pride shining in your eyes
I remember the day I shared my first wage
And the joy that shone on your face as you realized

All that I do, I do for you and mom
To bring you happiness and make you proud
I'll buy you all the things you've ever wanted
And shout it to the world, my love for you, unbound
But for now, I'll hold on to memories
And pray for your return to this world
For I am incomplete without you

Baba Moujib, I long to hear your voice once more
To feel your arms around me, forevermore
You spoke of a camper van, a dream you held
I promised to make it a reality
To bring it here
But now I know that dream will never be
For you are gone and my heart is filled with grief

Baba, please come back to me
I'll buy you anything
Set you free to explore the roads, the mountains, the sea
But without you, my heart is incomplete
I try to go on
To live my life
I miss you more than words can say
I'll love you forever
Until my dying day
