Mila POV

Running around the world was once a dream but now it's a punishment. But it doesn't matter. All I want is money.

"Hello Richard, is everything ready for the meeting?" I asked him. He's a new employee in our organization. As a project manager,  I'm trying very hard to implement a program but coordinating is very difficult especially with international collegue. Even after working for 4years, I'm not enjoying it.

"Yes, Mila. I think everything is set. They won't be much problem this time"

"Hope so. This project is very important for our company and to me. Hope everything goes well. It was started without a proper plan "

"Don't worry. Nothing to blame you" he said.

Normally, I'm a calm person but this sentence is enough to trigger me. As an immigrant, I'm trying so hard to control my anger in this country. I've to wait till evening.

"Worry about you," I said and walked towards the meeting room.

Richard is a handsome French guy. 6' tall, with perfect abs, his biceps anybody would die far especially when he rolls his sleeve, brunette hair, and trimmed beard. Ufff. I'm drooling. But he's not my type. I'm in a phase where everybody looks handsome and beautiful and no one is my type. My Indian friends ask me whether I'm asexual. Not sure of myself.

These kinds of unclarity is commonly seen in teenagers but I'm not. I'm gonna enter my 30s in a few more months.

The meeting ended positively. "Do you wanna join us for a drink?" Richard asked me."I need to buy some grocery items. Will catch up next time"  saying that i walked out of the building.

Listening to random shuffle spotify playlist i entered the supermarket. I was scanning through all the session. Living in Germany for past 3 years, my German is not good enogh to talk with native speakers. I'm ashamed of that. Google is my god. Not to blame, I'm very bad at learning new language. If I could learn, I'd have learnt indian languages.

As I was taking the egg, from the peripherial vision, I saw someone. Very familar. Yet so strange.

It's been years, seeing that figure

Is that him?

Someone I forgot long back

My heart

I need to calm myself

My blood is rushing to my face

Hundreds of thoughts running around my head. I turned to look at the person. Closing my eyes, I turned only to notice him missing. Where is he?

My heart is not gonna calm anytime soon. Maybe it's him. Maybe not. I walked to soup session. He isn't here. I missed him. I walked to billing session. Obviously, he must come to billing session. I wanted near the billing counter. I need to confirm it's him.

But what if it's him?

What am i going to do?

Am I scared or excited?

With too many unclear thoughts, I was again scanning through the bread session casually. Not to make anything awkward.

It's already been half an hour. I couldn't find him again. It pains my heart. Still can't see him.

I paid for my egg and left the market.

I walked slowly to my house. My phone started to ring. It's my roomate Abhishek. "Yes" I said

"Buy some chicken while coming home" he said

"I'm near our building" I complained

"Go back and buy then" he said

I sighed. "Ok"

Yes. My roommate is a guy. He is a very good friend of me. My parents don't know about it. I said, I was staying with a girl named Abhi. He is a great guy. Indian guys are very helpful especially when you're not in India. They don't expect anything in return in most cases. On top of that, he is a great cook. Sometimes, he cooks for me and never asked money in return or any favour. Whereas, most of the foreigners, don't buy you free meal. Even in dates, they ask you to split the bill. I'm an independent women but still I expect few things.

I don't know how to explain but when it comes to food, I want my friends to feed me without anything in return. Obviously, I'll pay them next time or treat with the meal again but asking money as a duty, i hate it. Food is something I love about Indians especially when I came here.

I went back again to the supermarket. I called Abhishek, "Do you want boneless or leg piece?"

"Leg piece. Buy 1kg" he said. I hung the call.

I bought chicken and was waiting in the billing counter.

I paid for the chicken. I placed the chicken inside my bag. Just about the open the exit door. A tall figure was towering me.

I saw the eyes. The extact same eyes, once I fell for.

"Sid?" came out as an question but I know it's him

"Hey hi" he said casually, piercing my heart, yet again
