The Bounty had just arrived at the Dark Island, so the ninja were dragging palm leaves and branches to help hide it. "This whole island is swarming with Garmadon's indestructible Stone Army," Kai grumbled, since the ninja had had to dodge a group of them to get all of the palm leaves and branches they needed.
"Ha! Good thing we're ninja and we know how to hide," Jay chirped, dropping his leaves and sticks into a pile.
"Who wants to hide when you can fight? I'm getting tired of having our heads buried in the sand. I wanna fight these guys," Cole snapped, stacking his branches against the side of the Bounty's hull.
"But Cole, they have no apparent weakness. It would be unwise to start a fight we cannot finish," Zane pointed out. [M/n] ignored the other ninja, focusing on the job at hand. He had been on alert as soon as they had touched down on the island, and he was agitated, because the deeper voice was snarling, alongside the fox's growling. Luckily, Orion was hibernating.
"That is why we must find the Temple of Light," Wu stated, standing at the entrance to the Bounty. They all set down their leaves and sticks before following him back to the Bridge. Misako, Lloyd, Nya, and Dr. Julien were already there, waiting for them.
They gathered around the table set up in the center of the room, where multiple scrolls from Misakos research sat. Once everyone had settled, Misako began, "The scrolls say there is a hidden temple on the island. If you find it, it will give the ninja pure elemental powers, powers that can destroy the indestructible army."
"So you're saying we get to fight? Whoo-hoo! I've got happy feet!" Cole cheered, as [M/n] chuckled softly. The purple ninja was sorting through some of the scrolls on the table.
"And you, my son, here it is written; 'For once the Green Ninja finds the instrument of peace, he will strike it and know the power of the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master.'" Misako stated, before glancing to the side at [M/n], who nodded. "'The Silver Ninja's Fox Pearl shall be returned, and he shall know the power of Kovidar.'"
"Ultimate Spinjitzu Master? Fox Pearl?" Lloyd questioned.
Misako chose to answer the first question, "It means you will be able to invoke the power of the Golden Dragon, an ancient fighting style only practiced by the First Spinjitzu Master."
The ninjas attention was quickly focused on Lloyd, surprised. "Hahaha, jealous?" Lloyd asked, smugly smirking at them. [M/n] snorted, shaking his head fondly.
"Uh, wait a minute. This all sounds too good to be true. What's the catch?" Kai questioned.
"The catch is, the Temple could be anywhere on the island, and all we have is this," Wu stated, holding up a golden medallion with three square holes, in a triangle. Dr. Juliem took the medallion and turned it over in his hands.
"A medallion. It's like a compass. When the three holes match up, the medallion will reveal where the temple is hidden," Dr. Julien explained.
"Uh, how'd you know that?" Jay asked.
"Oh, I did a lot of reading in my spare time. Adventure stories were my favorite."
"I prefer history, but I'd never turn down an adventure story," [M/n] mused, observing a different scroll.
Before Dr. Julien could strike up a conversation with the reserved ninja, Zane quickly spoke up, "Then what are we waiting for?"
He took the medallion from his father before they all turned to head out.
"Not you, Lloyd. Or you, [M/n]," Wu said, stopping the two in their tracks. Lloyd was annoyed, and [M/n] was agitated.
"Ah, seriously? Are we still doing this?" Lloyd complained.
