Evrena looked at me with a gaze of longing, and a deep seated desire as she held the ring tight to her chest.
... no to say she looked at me would be inaccurate, it was more like she was looking through me and beyond me, to some far off time and place. Somewhere where only she could see.
She then closed her eyes and lowered her head for a brief moment. That aura of longing and desire passed, instead it was replaced with a hope and joy.
"Now then I promised you, my father's eye," she said.
She held out the orb that was still in her hand.
"Take it," she said, a twinge of regret could be heard in her voice.
It was obvious this eye, the eye of her father meant a lot to her.
I took the eye with both hands, and held it securely in my hands.
It was warm, entrancing, and inviting, the center seemed to draw me in, the intense void seemed to once again leave me feeling cold.
Suddenly Evrena's hand was over top the eye obscuring it from view.
"Sorry I forgot. The eye is quite enticing," she said.
