Marina looked at me, still unsure.
Well, I suppose this isn't the first time we were served weird food. I took one of the fruits and quickly ate it. I bit into it, and the flavor and freshness of the fruit overwhelmed me.
"See, it's good, right? Though I'm curious as to why the king is tasting the food first and not the loyal knight," the Dark One said with a sly smile before eating another piece.
I sighed, "My "loyal," knight, is, shall we say, a bit temperamental," I replied.
The Dark One chuckled, "I see," she replied as she looked over at Marina, who was now eating.
"Now then, let's me see if I understand this correctly. Your wife disappeared, your looking for her, so you visited a sage and then a witch who you traded a blue rose for information about a magical object belong to a dragon, you visited said dragon traded your hair for the eye and have found your way to me wishing to trade the eye for the location of your wife. Does that about sum it up?"
"Well, when you put it like that," I replied.
