My most recent DSMP drawing thingy - I got fed up when it came to the background and gave up.

So, there was a series created by Drhair76 on AO3 called "from ice to water" and for those who haven't heard of it before, I'll very quickly summarise the parts you need to know. Tommy is an ice skater who is being abused by his coach and is at the Winter Olympics. Wilbur, Sapnap, Techno, Quackity, George and Schlatt make up the SMP hockey team with their coach Phil. He's roommates at the Olympics with Ranboo and Tubbo who are snowboarders having only just met. Ranboo and Tubbo's coach is Nikki. Jack and Fundy are skiers though they're only mentioned. At first, the SMP team thought that Tommy was stuck up because he wouldn't talk to any of them but Wilbur got to know him a little and then they said, "Mine" and practically adopted him. Other skaters include Eryn, Aimsey, Olive and Beau. I can't remember if Karl was included and if so what he did so I'm gonna add him as a skier under Nikki who is basically always with Sapnap for the time being. The doctor there is Ponk. I think that's all you need to know for where we are in the timeline but I highly recommend you check their series out!!

It didn't matter what he did, Tommy still didn't feel as though he belonged. As though he truly deserved the love and attention the hockey team was insistent on showing him. So, when he woke up with a throbbing headache, body wracked with chills yet plagued with an uncomfortable heat, he decided not to bother them. He didn't want to be a burden. He couldn't risk losing them. Not now.

He knew that his roommates would catch on instantly, they were a lot more observant than they seemed and he didn't want them to figure it out and tell the others. Tommy wasn't weak. So, he did the only thing he could think of. Made his way to practice. He knew he shouldn't and there was a heavy ache in his heart at the thought of missing breakfast with the team and his roommates. Even if he couldn't eat, or he didn't feel up to talking, there was never any pressure, some gentle encouragement sure but no one forced anything on him. Instead, he would curl up against one of their sides and listen to them talking, basking in their warmth as it temporarily melted away the ice that eternally encased his skin. Alas, he couldn't bring himself to take the walk up to the cafeteria, it wasn't like anyone would be awake yet anyway, instead, he changed into some 'better' clothes, some black sweatpants and a white t-shirt, slipping his skate bag over his shoulder and sneaking away into the hallway without waking his roommates. Yes, they were observant but they were also both incredibly heavy sleepers.

The ice welcomed him as it always did, though its embrace felt colder than ever, glacial tendrils wrapping him in their embrace and numbing him down to the core. As he sat on the edge of the bench, lacing up his skates, he couldn't help but think about the disappointment of his friends when he didn't turn up to breakfast but at the same time, maybe his coach would go easier on him, maybe his coach would finally be proud, though Tommy greatly doubted it.

Being out on the ice was liberating, normally, today however it felt wrong. Nausea curled in his gut, head pounding stronger and stronger the more he spun and leapt across the ice, his legs shook underneath him after only half an hour, body weak and threatening to give out from beneath him. At that moment he knew he was in for a rough day.
