Episode 1

(A/N please note that the italics is Maddie talking in the bush telegraphy. Maddie will be replacing Olivia which means Scarlette is on the other team)

I could feel the Australian breeze against my hair. It was weird being somewhere without my brothers. I could feel the breeze fly past me as the speed boat I was in going towards the land. I still can't believe I'm here. The view is amazing from the speed boat. I could only see one other person on land when I got out the boat.
"Shit don't fall Maddie." I stated as I got up.
"Hi." I stated walking towards him.
"Hey." He stated giving me a hug.
"I'm Maddie. And I already know you're Boy George from growing up." I stated laughing he joined in.
Maddie: We have bloody Boy George on the show this year. My mom's probaly going crazy.
"It looks like it's just us two." He stated as I picked up a drink.
"For now yeah." I stated. "Hey a boat." I shouted pointing towards the boat.
"Sue." George shouted to the woman. I'm guessing it was Sue from Corrie as I've seen her before.
"Hi." I stated giving her a hug.
"Hi how are you?" George asked.
"Hi. What are we doing?" Sue asked.
"It looks like I'm a celebrity." I answered laughing.
"Well, you know what we're doing. Come on." George stated.
"I'm sorry what's your name?" Sue asked me.
"Maddie Holland I was on Love Island 2 years ago and now I sing for a living." I stated laughing they both joined. We walked to where the drinks were.
"We're being very silly, that's what we're doing." George stated.
"I know. It's gonna be grate though." Sue answered laughing.
"It always is a fun time with us three." I stated laughing the other joining in.
"Course." George stated.
"The sun is shining!" Sue pointed out.
"You don't get this sun in England." I pointed out.
"Well... While we're sleeping rough." George stated.
"Aw, amazing." Sue pointed out.
"We like that." George went on.
"Get a drink Sue." I pointed to the drinks on the table.
"Fabulous!" Sue stated grabbing a drink.
"Have you two been here before?" George asked.
"I did when my brother came over he brought me a ticket to come down." I answered.
"How old's your brother?" Sue asked me.
"Tom is 26. I'm 24 I have three younger brothers Harry and Sam are 23 and Paddy's 17." I answered.
"So how old were you in Love Island?" Sue asked.
"I had turned 21 a month before I went in." I stated. "Have you been here before you two?"
"No, I'm loving it. I mean, what's not to love? Look at this place." Sue stated.
"Because you don't really have to go far to find something beautiful to look at, you know?" George asked.
"Yeah, yeah." Sue said pointing to me and her making me laugh.
"The lovely water. Oh, and you two of course." George stated as we all burst out laughing. Sue gasps.
"Look!" Sue shouted. I looked over her shoulder.
"Another boat." I shouted.
"Oh, my days!" Sue stated.
"More humans." George stated making me laugh.
"This is going to be a long experience." I stated drinking some of my drink. He gets off the boat and waves at us.
"Hi." Sue stated.
"Hi you alright?" I stated.
"Good. How are you?" George stated.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Owen." Owen stated he hugged me slightly.
"Lovely to meet you Maddie." I stated.
"I seen you on Love Island." Owen stated.
"I'm not supersede at this point." I stated laughing.
"Nice to meet you too. Yeah I know who you are." George stated.
"Hi Owen. Nice to meet you." Sue said hugging him.
"What's your name?" Owen asked Sue.
"Sue." Sue answered.
"Maddie, Sue." Owen said looking at George.
"George." George stated.
"George. This is unreal." Owen continued.
"I thought no I'm not coming in." I confessed.
"Really. What made you change your mind?" Owen asked.
"My younger brother Paddy. I'm doing it to make him proud." I answered.
"How olds Paddy?" Owen asked.
"17 years old. If I wasn't here I would be at home with Paddy and my dog Charlie watching you lot." I answered laughing.
"Yeah. This place is beautiful." Sue said looking around.
"I keep pinching myself. Cheers too you three." Owen said lifting his glass.
"It feels like it's pretty glamorous, but I have a suspicion that..." George said making us all laugh.
"We waiting for one more person then?" Owen asked.
"I think so I'm not too sure." I answered looking around.
"We are. Are we getting in that? I'm not too sure." George stated.
"I reckon there is going to be a twist." I stated.
"Why do you think that?" Owen asked me.
"Because it is Ant and Dec. What do we expect." I answered.
"I won't be allowed in there. It says 'VIPs only'." Owen pointed out.
"Well I reckon I could if I flash my tits." I joked laughing making the others laugh as well.
"I can tell your going to be a right laugh." Owen said laughing.
"This is crazy." Owen whispered to me.
"I mean it isn't everyday you get asked to do this." I pointed out.
"How gorgeous is this?" Sue asked pointing to the ocean.
"This is amazing. Honestly. Here's to us. Cheers!" I said as we cheered.
"So we figured we've got one glass left, so there's gotta be one more person, and then we'll be
offski." Sue stated as George gasps.
"Shit. I met him before at an event I sung at." I stated.
"Oh, it's Mike Tindall." George said.
"You sung in front of Mike Tindall?" Owen asked.
"Yeah because he was at this Olympic game I was asked to open." I answered.
"You've known everyone. What's going on." Owen stated.
"Because I kind of watch telly and..." George stated. We all laughed.
"Kind of watch telly?" Owen asked.
"Hi I'm Maddie. Nice to meet you. Are you OK?" I asked him.
"Lovely to meet you." Mike stated.
"How are you?" I asked him.
"Yeah." Mike answered.
"Hi darling." Sue stated.
"How are you doing?" Mike asked.
"I'm good." Sue answered. Mike went through meeting the others and it was crazy.
"Just wishing I'd gone for the deeper V. You know what I mean." Mike stated as we all laughed.
"I knew I should of wore something more fancy." I joked.
"You look good." Owen stated making me smile.
"I don't have that tan though unfortunately." Mike stated.
"I look like a ghost." I said putting my arm next to Owen's.
"My northern skin doesn't go with that." Mike explained.
"I'm having to hid it!" Owen stated.
"You look good trust me Owen." I piped up looking at him.
"So Mike, come on, what are you scared off?" George asked.
"Erm, fear is a choice. Just don't choose to be scared." Mike answered.
"I might hire you as my life coach I'm in need of one." I stated laughing. "I like your mentality. I'm
gonna hang out with you a lot." I pointed out.
"What's your fears?" Owen whispered to me.
"Fucking chickens man." I stated.
"Did I just hear Maddie say she's scared of chickens?" George asked.
"I am petrified of live chickens. I can't go on a farm if it has chickens." I answered. "I can tell Mike's gonna help us through this." I continued after a bit.
"I'm here for you all." Mike stated. I smiled at this and kecked the last bit of my drink.
"My thinking is that we're in this glamorous spot and wherever up next won't be so glamorous." George stated.
"That is so true George." I stated. We all start cheering for Ant and Dec.
"Ahoy, there!" Ant says.
"They are like a dark cloud of misery." George stated.
"I agree with you there George." I stated as the men walked towards us.
"Hey!" Both boys stated.
"Go away we are having fun." I shout making everyone laugh.
"Look at this handsome duo." Mike stated.
"You all look lovely." Dec piped up.
"You could of told me I needed to dress up more. These trousers are nothing compared to these." I joked looking at the boys. "And you! We're in Australia!" I cheered laughing.
"Yay!" We all cheered.
"Welcome to Australia!" Ant stated.
"Cheers." George said from beside me.
"Anybody really nervous?" Ant asked as I put my hand up.
"Is it just me? No, just me?" I stated. "Yes I'm petrified." I continued.
"You're not!" Dec stated.
"Of what?" Ant asked.
"I am scared. But I'm gonna do this." I stated.
"Is it more scared of the unknown?" Dec asked.
"Yeah. I think so. I have no clue." I answered.
"Well it's nice that you've all met and all got to know each other." Dec pointed out.
"We've only just met other then Mike and Maddie." George pointed out.
"And we are expected to have a big sleep over in the woods with each other." I stated laughing.
"Only just met." Dec said.
"There's time for a falling out!" I stated.
"But we bring news!" Dec said.
"You're good news are never good news for some." I groaned.
"Oh." The others stated.
"Oh, of course you do." I said.
"Just as the sun comes out." Mike said laughing.
"Yeah tell us tonight." I said laughing.
"You're not actually going to be making the journey to camp together." Dec pointed out.
"Fuck off! Whatever challenge your gonna make me do is gonna end up on my Tiktok knowing my brothers." I groaned.
"You're brothers have access to your social media?" Mike asked.
"Well more Paddy as I don't trust the older 3." I answered.
"Oh, no." Sue stated catching on.
"What?" George asked.
"That's because one of you has been chosen by the public as a Jungle VIP." Dec explained.
"Ooh." Sue stated.
"Sounds nice doesn't it?" Dec asks.
"No it doesn't cause we probaly have to do something weird." I stated.
"And the jungle VIP is George." Dec said.
"No offence but I'm glad it isn't me." I stated laughing.
"Congratulations George! Did you already feel like a Jungle VIP anyway?" Ant asked.
"Not yet cause I haven't seen the Jungle. But I feel like a VIP." George answered making us laugh.
"Yeah, I though so. Maddie you have a few famous people in the family correct?" Ant asked.
"Yeah my older brother is Tom Holland and him and my brothers own brothers trust." I answered.
"Of course it's Boy George." Dec said.
"Very Insecure Person!" George stated.
"Same George same." I said laughing.
"You look grate Maddie." Owen said.
"Now you have noticed, up there is a VIP section. There is a table for two, George, so you get to choose somebody to be your plus one to have a luxury meal with." Ant explained.
"Eat it right now?" George asked.
"Yeah." The boys answered.
"Sue." George stated.
"Sue?" Ant asked.
"Yeah I choose Sue." George answered.
"Thank you." Sue stated.
"Why Sue? You didn't give a reason." Ant stated.
"She seems like my type of person I would get along with." George explained.
"And stand together they look good together. Yeah very good." Ant said.
"We're like Jungletastic. Look at us." George stated.
"Yeah love it. We'll bring the comedy." Sue stated.
"Hey I was the comedian of the love island villa I'll take that role again here." I said laughing.
"I remember that." Dec stated.
"So George, Sue, you can take your seats for your VIP luxury lunch." Ant said.
"Let me get this for you." Mike piped up opening the VIP section and holding it for them.
"Oh, thanks, Mike." Ant said.
"Ladies first." George piped up to Sue.
"Thank you." Sue stated.
"See you." I shouted.
"Nice meeting you first Maddie." George yelled making me laugh.
"You two George." I shouted.
"Hope it sinks." Mike said.
"It's really nice." Sue yelled.
"Good enjoy." Ant stated.
"So Owen, Maddie, Mike, the start of your jungle adventure is going to be very different. And your journey begins right now, where you will have to earn your food along the way. Your transport should be here any minute." Dec explained.
"If we are doing cross country I'm giving up I was bad at that when I had to do it at school." I stated as the helicopter came above us.
"You okay with that?" Ant asked.
"Fucking get me in it I love helicopters always wanted to ride in one." I answered.
"That's VIP. Sod the boat!" Mike said making me laugh.
"Who needs lunch when you can have a helicopter ride?" Ant asked.
"So your transport awaits, and he's gonna meet you down there." Dec said.
"I'm excited for this shit." I stated walking towards the helicopter.
Maddie: I have always loved heights ever since I was little so getting to do this is crazy.
We walked into the helicpoter. We slid the headphones on and I felt a hand slide into mine. It was Owen's I looked at him.
"Scared Owen?" I asked.
"A bit." He answered. We screamed when the helicopter went into the air. I felt Owen grip my hand slightly.
Maddie: Paddy I hope you saw that I did it. I'm a thrill seeker I'm not as layed back as my brothers. So getting to do this is crazy. 21-year-old me would be going crazy knowing I went from being on Love Island to being a best selling artist in 5 months to doing this.
"Shit." I yelled getting out the helicopter falling into Owen's arms. "Thanks."
"Can you read that from here?" I asked after a bit.
"Look three stars and a boat." Owen said.
"How about we just go and steal the stars now? They've already won." Mike said.
"Might as well." I stated.
"We wouldn't need to do anything." Mike stated.
"Celebrities, you now have a chance to win 3 stars on a Critter Cruise. Each star represents a meal for camp tonight. Marked on the map are three challenges, one for each of you to complete. In each challenge you have an opportunity to find a code, and that star will unlock one of the stars on the boat." Owen read.
"Okay look." I said picking up the map.
"Ah well spotted Maddie." Owen said.
"A map just for us." I stated opening it up.
"I'm a little bit nervous, I can't lie. I'm seeing boats and water. The one thing that I'm scared of facing is probaly snakes that can swim. Any snakes that have evolved to swimming level." Owen said.
"You'll be fine." I said laughing and giving him a hug. We all bust out laughing.
"Bring them up and lets go to the boat." Owen stated.
"Yes you captain." I stated following him as Mike picked up the map.
"Yes boss!" Mike said agreeing with me.
"Ordering you about!" Owen said.
"I'll have you know I don't listen to orders very often." I stated sitting down.
"Ordered in by a 23-year and his side kick." Mike said getting on board.
"Hey I'm not his side-kick if anything he's mine." I said laughing.
"Skips if you do the steering and the power." Mike said.
"Are we all ready? If you're not I'm leaving you here." I stated before staring the boat.
"That don't sound good." Owen stated.
"That's back... Is it?" Mike asked me.
"Fuck I think it's reverse." I stated.
Maddie: I swear often it's really bad. No one in my family is the same thank god. But it's really fun getting to do things I would of never thought of doing in England. I would not have thought to do a code braker on a lake. So fair play boys.
"Are we going the right way Maddie?" Owen asked.
"Yes I'm going the right way Owen." I answered.
"Really Maddie? No that's going backwards." Mike said as I figured out how to use the thing.
"Oh, this is how we do it." I stated going the right way.
"There you go." Mike said as we all started laughing.
"Hey I know what I'm doing I had to learn how to row a boat for a music video." I stated.
"You fooled me." Owen said. I pushed him slightly.
"Right. I'm doing this. We are on our merry ways." Owen stated as we were going down the river.
"I am not blind I have 20/20 vision and I can see something ahead." I stated.
"I can see something as well." Mike said agreeing wit me.
"It's a boat." I stated.
"So we can see an upside-down boat." Mike said.
"I can see a bloody sign. Danger down under. Clues below. Right all I've gathered is that you have to go under the boat, and there is probaly some mates in there." I stated
"Ooh!" Owen stated.
"I'm the only one without hair." Mike stated.
"So that is a good shout." I pointed out.
"Maybe I start with that." Mike stated.
"Come on Mike you got this." I said as Mike got out the boat.
"Oh, mate!" Owen stated.
"Bye Mike." I stated as he went under the boat. We started doing Mikes trial.
"D is 5." Mike stated.
"5 lets go." I shot up and put 5 into the padlock.
"There's a U." Mie piped up.
"What is it my guy?" I asked him.
"That's zero." He answered.
"Zero got it." I finished at I put zero in.
"What else did you want?" Mike asked.
"An A ironically." I answered. We managed to finish Mike's trial. We won a star for camp tonight.
"On to the second challenge." Mike stated.
"I'll gladly go it." I stated.
"You had some right confidence there Maddie." Owen said looking at me.
"Yeah cause I'm starving and I'm determined to win even if I don't have my chief of a brother." I stated.
"Skipper attitude that is right there." Owen said highfiving me. We got to my challenge.
"Fuck a freezer. Today's specials, fish eyes. Shit." I stated.
"You'll do grate Maddie." Owen stated. I got out the boat.
"Count the stock in each freezer." I read.
"Count the fish." Mike said as I got towards the freezer.
"I reckon this is going to be gross." I stated.
"Come on Maddie. Think Paddy is watching you doing this. Make him proud." Owen said. I smiled at him before putting my hand in the freezer.
"Shit cockroaches." I yelled slightly.
"Moist is a good word to use right now." Mike stated.
"Moist is never a good word." Owen answered.
"They smell like shit." I piped up.
"What do the eyes feel like?" Owen asked.
"I'm gonna answer with is feel your own eye Owen." I stated.
"I've never squeezed an eye before." Owen told us.
"They're quite hard, I think." Mike said.
"Owen I should hope you haven't squeezed an eye before." I told him behind me. I continued on with the trial complaining. I thought there were zero in the second one.
"Mike try 6 0 1 0." I yelled.
"No." Mike said.
"Mike try 11 not 10." I told the man.
"Still no Maddie." Mike told me.
"Mike try 8081." I yelled.
"No locked still Maddie." Mike shouted back.
"Found a second." I cheered.
"Yes Maddie. You got this." Owen stated.
"Mike try this 8214." I yelled.
"Yes Maddie." Mike yelled making me cheer.
"About time I tell you." I cheered. Owen got out the boat and shouted sui. I ran up to him and
hugged him.
"Yes Maddie. You did it." Owen said in my ear.
"Owens challenge now." I stated. We watched as Owen did his challenge as we laughed during the entire thing.
"This is one of the best things I've watched." I said to Mike. Owen continued his challenge.
"Bear shit?" Mike asked the man laughing.
"1463! The year Mike was born!" Owen yelled.
"I agree." I stated as Mike put 1463 in the lock.
"Yes Owen you did it." I yelled. We argued about weather to tell Owen about the bugs on his back. We arrived at camp. I was leading the boys into camp. Owen was behind me gripping onto my hand again.
"Doesn't smell too bad. That's a good sign." Owen stated.
"Why are you smelling the air?" I asked Owen.
"Oh look." I heard someone say.
"What?" Someone else asked.
"Who's that?" The first one asked.
"Hurry up you idiot. If you don't keep up you're gonna make me fall. Because of how tight you
got my hand." I stated walking into camp still holding onto Owen's hand.
"Yes." Someone yelled.
"Hi you lot." I stated.
"We got three more people." The man stated.
"Maddie." Jill yelled.
"Jill." I shouted letting go of Owen and hugging Jill. We had met at the football finial I did a song for the opening.
"It's good to see you Maddie." Jill stated.
"I know. You look good." I stated. I introduced myself to the other two. I walked round camp with Owen.
Mike's Pov:
I watched as Maddie and Owen walked off into camp. I could tell something was going to happen between the two with how they were acting.
"Have them two met before?" Baba asked me.
"I don't know. But they have been close since we were first introduced this morning. They stood next to each other. Sat next to each other held each others hands and full on were acting like they liked each other." I explained.
"Really?" Jill asked.
"Yeah. I think something's going to happen between them two." I whispered as they walked back.
Maddie's POV.
We were looking at the beds.
"Maddie you having bottom bunk?" Owen yelled.
"Go on I'll have the bottom bunk." I answered walking over to him.
"Yes this is gonna be so much fun." Owen said to me. I was feeling sad about leving Paddy. I've been way from him ages. I had to isolate before coming in which for me was about a month as I had symptoms of COVID. But it wasn't it was a nasty cold. I didn't want to make a scene so I excused myself to sit away from the group to have a bit of me time.
"Mads are you here?" Owen asked walking towards where I was sat.
"Hey." I stated sniffling.
"What's wrong Mads?" Owen asked. He nicknamed me Mads on our way to camp.
"Longest I've been away from Paddy. We went everywhere together. I was in the Villa 6 weeks of course. But I felt bad for leaving him the first time. Tat was the first tie in his life we've been apart. I know it is the first night and I don't deserve to be sad." I explained as Owen wiped the tears.
"Mads it's fine to feel that way. He's not only you're brother but he's your best friend. So you deserve to miss him. Make him proud. I can tell you think the world of all your brothers. So do this for them." Owen stated hugging me.
"Thanks Owen." I stated. I have met Owen outside of this at an award show. I was invited because I had close ties with the people up at Emmerdale. As I signed a deal for them to play my music in the show. I must admit Owen is fit.
"Do you want to sleep with me in my bunk tonight to feel better?" Owen asked me.
"Are you sure Owen?" I asked him. Because I didn't want to intrude.
"Yes Maddie I'm sure. I wouldn't of asked if I wasn't." Owen answered.
"Then yes please." I whispered I didn't like to be weak because I wanted to be a role model to Paddy. We went back to camp.
Owen's POV:
We all went to bed except me and Mike. Maddie was asleep on my chest. I felt bad for her. She was cute and my type. Mike looked at me.
"You like her don't you?" Mike asked.
"Yes I do. She is so chill." I answered looking at him.
"You do know she feels the same?" He asked.
"I wish. But why would she go for me?" I asked Mike.
"I see the way she looks at you the way she let you in first straight away. She trust you with her life Owen. Listen to me with this. She likes you." Mike stated. I looked down at the sleeping girl. Was there a chance Mike was right? I didn't dwell on it as I was tired. I fell right asleep.
