Get ready for some shoddy picture quality...

For some reason, Wattpad turns my pictures even when they're in the correct rotation on my gallery. So sorry about that... it might be because the first image was horizontal, which makes everything else horizontal too. Oh, well....

This is my first day of working on the statue, for roughly 3 hours (estimate, as I watched two 1 1/2 movies during). I will explain each step so you can come along the journey with me! Sometimes I forget to take a picture because I'm in the zone, which results in a time skip XD. Everything you see is done with a 3D pen and wood imitation filament.

1) Forgot to take a picture during the base stage. I have an image under the wax paper which I'm tracing (really difficult with the filament, as the plastic doesn't want to stick to the wax, but I guess that's the point, isn't it?). The first step is to create an outline to follow, and then as you can see with the neck and head, you take that 2D tracing and turning it into 3D by adding circles!

2) close up of head

3) After some work on the torso, it now has a ribcage and pelvis! When doing my first sculpture, I just made the thorax with circles, but this time I had an actual skeleton to follow so I created a basic shape for the ribcage and hips

Filament is lots of fun to work with because as your pen is printing, the plastic is still hot and you can bend it. That's how I got those curved parts. I went the extra step and created the pelvis bones so I could properly add the legs on. It pays off very well, as you'll see soon >:)
